How to get 1.0.1
I'm new in Linux (Ubuntu 8.04) and pre-new in Wine. Apprently 1.0.1 is the latest stable release, but I can't find a way to get it by following any of the links on the WineHQ pages. I always end up at a page that's warning me I'll be downloading a beta version, even though I've clicked on a link that promises 1.0.1 All help welcome, but please don't point me to a tar.gz -

Error resolving dependencies when installing wine
I downloaded the Wine binary package from http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/epel/5Server/x86_64/, which according to wine documentation is compatible version to be installed in CentOS 5 server distro. I downloaded all the files with version number 1.0.1-1 and stored it in a folder named WineHQ in desktop. However, when I try to run wine-1.0.1-1.el5.i386.rpm using software installer, i'm

2 versions of wine in the same PC ?
hello, I found a bug in Wine 1.2 and reported it on bugzilla. This bug has a very simple workaround, but I would like to see if it is still present in Wine 1.3 beta. Is it possible to have 2 versions of Wine simultaneously installed on the same system, or will they disturb each other ? Of course wine uses a .wine directory, but is there a trick, such as using .wine1 and .wine2 ??

Running two versions of wine?
Is it possible to run two versions of wine on the same machine? As the latest development version (1.1.22) runs Sam & Max Season One and Myst Masterpiece Edition perfectly but doesn't run realMYST. But the stable version of wine that comes with Ubuntu 9.04 (1.0.1) can run realMYST and Myst Masterpiece Edition perfectly but won't run Sam & Max Season One. I was hoping there was a

Updating to a Development Version breaks 'wine-dev'
Hi, I am relatively new to Linux but know what I'm doing. I have installed Ubuntu and WinE (through synaptic package manager so it took the latest stable version, 1.0.1) Warcraft III worked perfectly in this version. But GGClient (also known as Garena, a program used to play low-latency games with others on the internet through a VPN) does not work in this version of WinE. So I looked it up,

Intalling WINE through source and WINETRICKS
I installed WINE 1.3.15 by compiling the source code for it (because I had to apply a patch to WINE for a game). However, because of the installation through the terminal I now do not get the full WINE folder that appears in Applications>WINE; At the minute, Applications > WINE > Programs > whateverIHaveInstalled. Before, when I installed via UBUNTU SOFTWARE CENTER, it installed the

I didn't want to download the developers version, I wanted the latest stable version. I downloaded

Update WINE's 1.0.1 todo list?
I think that somebody should update the WINE's TODO list for 1.0.1 All the bugs in the list (http://bugs.winehq.org/buglist.cgi?product=Wine&target_milestone=1.0.1&order=bugs.bug_severity) are closed/fixed. [Rolling Eyes]

1.0.1 download - aa strange problem
Having trouble with 1.2, tried to return to 1.0.1 (last stable acc. to the Wine page!) However, there`s... no link to it anywhere! Even in .deb repository there are any versions you could fancy- later and veen earlier - minus the stable. A rather strange idea... Where can I find 1.0.1 packages?!

My first attempts at Wine
I need to be sure that Wine will be able to run some of my XP applications before I commit to linux, so I installed Lucid Puppy 525 ( a cut down version of Lucid) and Wine - the default install version is set to v1.1.43, so that wasted a lot of time. I then installed Wine v1.3.13 , since the stable v1.2 wasn't on offer. I'm going to need Java Runtime Environment, so I started by
