Compatible 5GHz wifi usb dongles?
Hi, Can anyone recommend a 5GHz usb wifi dongle that works out of the box with CentOS? Tried various Mediatek (0e8d:7610) %(*^ off amazon/ebay, without any luck, so please don't suggest that. Thanks! -- Sent from the Delta quadrant using Borg technology! Nux! www.nux.ro

Compatible 5GHz wifi usb dongles?
Hi Nux. I've used the following successfully on CentOS 7: TP-LINK - TL-WN722N I'm currently using it on Ubuntu where lsusb gives this: Bus 001 Device 004: ID 0cf3:9271 Atheros Communications, Inc. AR9271 802.11n No issues whatsoever - an added bonus is that it does monitor mode if you plan on troubleshooting wifi! Cheers, ak. On Fri, 2016-03-25 at 02:25 +0000, Nux! wrote: > Hi,

Pci Export to get usb Dongle working under DomU (Xen 3.2)
Hello everybody, I''m experiencing some problems while exporting a whole usb hub to my DomU. My Dom0 is a Debian Etch using Xen 3.2 and kernel 2.6.18-5-xen-686 SMP on an intel core 2 duo. My DomU is a CentOs 5.1 using same kernel. Both are 32 bits environnements. I''ve exported my Usb Hub, and a ethernet card, using the pciback.hide=(04:00.0)(00:1d.0) option to Dom0 kernel. I

HID device (USB protection dongle) not recognized
Hi everyone, I'm trying to run a software that relies on an USB protection dongle. Windows sees the dongle as a HID device, and my Debian detects it correctly. Here's the dump from lsusb for that device: Code: Bus 002 Device 002: ID 0e50:0002 Device Descriptor: bLength 18 bDescriptorType 1 bcdUSB 1.10 bDeviceClass 0 (Defined at

USB Dongle HASP Driver
Hey guys, I have an application that requires a USB Key for it to run. I am running FC5 and have managed to install the application. It runs, but asks me to check the dongle. The dongle is a hasp dongle. I also have parralell versions of this dongle. Is there anyway I can get this to run, it is really essential in my roll out of linux machines at work. I have seen that there are drivers

Asking PIN on usb dongle insert
Dear Friends, This questions is about smartcard/usb token support in OpenSSH. pcsc-lite now supports udev rules. It should be possible to trigger ssh-add -s /usr/lib/openssh-pkcs11.so when inserting a USB token. At the same time there should be a way to trigger ssh-add -e /usr/lib/openssh-pkcs11.so on USB token removal. Did some of you test this scenario? Kind regards, --

Powerware 9120 serial connection via USB/serial dongle
I decided to try this to see if it worked better since Powerware decided to build in some oddball USB protocol instead of using a HID UPS profile, but it doesn't seem to work. The USB/serial dongle is recognized by Linux and added as /dev/ttyUSB0, owned by group "dialout", so I had to add the nut user to the dialout group. In the compatibility list, the proper driver for the

Wine does not allow program to see USB ID
I have a program called Messiah Studio. It licenses to your USB drive. Some people over on their forum have gotten it working under Wine but they go thru so many steps to do it that by the time they are done they are not sure which steps did the trick. So far all we have diduced is that you need Wine 1.3 and you need the drive mounted as low a level as possible. Here is what I have so far.

Recommend a USB 802.11 dongle?
I ALMOST bought a dongle on sale at ecost without checking. There is a driver for the CP Technologies adapter, but not as an rpm, it seems. Madwifi.org says no USB support. Though there is some discussion of using the ndiswrapper driver. So which to use? Anyone out there with any success?

Best sotphne to se ith a BlueTooth Hadset, a PC and a USB dongle
Hello everyone. I recently boght a Nokia BH900 headset and USB bluetooth dongle and I'd like to use them to make calls from a sofphone. I managed to this with boxe XTen-Lite and the Zoiper - but they both see the device as a simple sound card through the BlueSoleil drivers. While this is allmost usable, the headphone seems to be kept in "transmission" mode all the time and I get

DECT USB dongle - an Asterisk channel?
Michael Graves bounced this to me this morning - it looks interesting as a possible device for which an Asterisk channel driver could be written: http://www.redorbit.com/news/technology/1699391/rtx_releases_dectcatiq_20_usb_dongle/index.html?source=r_technology DECT really is a nice protocol if properly done - wireless phones should really just work like this everywhere. Re: Help with USB-to-serial cable
This is a general problem with the low-cost Prolific processor chip and drivers. You should invest in a better USB to Serial adapter (http://www.usconverters.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=67&products_id=244) with a FTDI chipset. It costs a bit more but its well worth the money. The drivers for the FTDI chipset are well documented and compatible with most devices.

program to monitor USB keys
I wrote a small program to monitor keyboards found on /dev/input/event* It works great but I always get EAGAIN from my read() function. google says this is normal when open() is used and O_NONBLOCK mode. I know this is slightly offtopic but I was wondering if the centos gurus that also program know anything about this. My goal was to not be eating CPU cycles with a small program that just

Re: Can Garmin's (MapSource) USB map-card reader be used in Wine?
Hello, I tried to install Mapsource 6 in Wine (20050211.2) on MDK LE2005 but it didn't install... The same with GIDroute which installed but didn't want to be launched. I will give it a try on MDV 2006 but I don't expect a miracle. And the pseudo map applications for Linux are not really what we can consider as useful and easy to handle with...
