Battlefield 2 & Battlefield 2142 : startup resolution issue
Hi I am trying to get Battlefield 2 and Battlefield 2142 to launch under Kubuntu 10.04 & Wine 1.3.6. I'm using an Nvidia 8800 GTX 768Mb GPU with Nvidia blob driver 260.19.12. Anyway launching BF2142 (retail copy, patched to v1.5) gives me the following error (2x) in the console output streams: Code: ... err:x11settings:X11DRV_ChangeDisplaySettingsEx No matching mode found 800x600x32

limited resolution on DVI and HDMI at the same time
I got 1920x1200 at 59.95Hz via DVI and 3840x2160 at 60.00Hz via HDMI at the same time with the proprietary nvidia driver. I get flickering on the 1920x1200 at 59.95 with the nouveau driver (it doesn't flicker if I lower it to 1920x1080 at 59.96). Any idea why? proprietary: $ xrandr Screen 0: minimum 8 x 8, current 5760 x 2160, maximum 32767 x 32767 DVI-D-0 connected primary 1920x1200+0+0

ATI Radeon IGP resolution problems
My NC4010 has the ATI Radeon IGP 350M controller http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/11832_na/11832_na.HTML It works fine in 800x600 but when I change it to 1024x768 the LCD goes bad. Hard to discribe, it looks like the 800x600 is just smaller in the upper left with parts clipped and the rest of the screen repeats part of the reduced sized image. I am running at 60Mz. I have

Can the WINE window be larger on high resolution settings?
I was reading this post http://forum.winehq.org/viewtopic.php?p=45535&sid=6957add8af3402a8afa68d8527121e2d and others like it looking for a way to make the content in the WINE window look larger. I mean to look like 800x600 resolution when the monitor settings is at 1024x768. So, I have typed this on the command line: Code: wine explorer /desktop=spider,800x600 spider.exe or wine explorer

Civ3 works, but a weird resolution problem
How do you force a game todo 800x600? Ive specified... "Managed" = "Y" "Desktop" = "800x600" "UseDGA" = "Y" "UseXShm" = "Y" "DXGrab" = "Y" "DesktopDoubleBuffered" = "Y" The actual game (Civ III), runs fine, its just too big for my 800x600 setup, its some how stretched out...

NV43: Native resolution not available on Dell 2007FP
I have a Dell 2007FP monitor. NV43 (GeForce 6600) can not use the native resolution. 1600x1200 is listed under "DDC gathered Modelines" with the rest of the info, but then is missing from "probed modes". I have a secondary card, NV4a (GeForce 6200, PCI). It works with this card. This card does not show "DDC gathered modelines" at all, and 1600x1200 is listed

XRandR and Screen Resolution Again
Having spent all day researching xrandr and the use of metamodes, I want to know: Is there a way to monitor the wineserver process so that I can run xrandr immediately upon wineserver's termination? Correct me if I am wrong. I believe that is what I want done. (My problem, like that of many others, is that a full-screen game leaves my display trashed. I've found the same solution,

Wine not properly loading config file
Hi, I'm starting with wine. I've been playing with an older version from 2003 and just ugraded to the Wine version : 20050524. I'm using RedHat 9 at the moment. I'm trying to change the resolution and drives in Wine, but for some strange reason, every changes I make in the ~/.wine/config file are not reflecting in wine. I naturally verified if I had any wineserver running in the

Nouveau doesn't use the maximal resolution of my screen and GPU
Output name 'default' is not the name of an output nouveau can produce (or nvidia for that matter, afaik). This is the vesa driver or... something. Can you supply xorg log + dmesg? There is no sign of the nouveau kernel module being loaded. Make sure it's loaded, otherwise it won't work. Some distributions blacklist it in modprobe.conf or a related file. I believe the nvidia blob installer might as well. Actually, looks like you've explicitly disabled it -- Oct 28 21:57:22 victorlefevre-MS-7235 kernel: [ 0.000000] Kernel command line:

KVM Linux Guest Resolution only 1024x768
Dear All, I'm trying to install a Debian Wheezy KVM guest on a CentOS 6.4 Host. The only resolutions supported are 1024x768 or 800x600. I increased the video RAM to 500 MB, but the guest still says: [ 10.321] (II) CIRRUS(0): Not using default mode "1920x1200" (insufficient memory for mode) Only 32 MB are recognized: 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Cirrus Logic GD 5446

ATI Radeon IGP 350M resolution problems
My HP 4010 and the IGP 350M video card. I can only get it to go into 800x600 mode. At one time, Resolution Display (gnome desktop) was giving me an option of 1024x768 and if I selected it the monitor went crazy. Now I don''t even get that higher resolution as an option. I have searched far and wide for information on this card and the Radeon linux driver. No help at all. My

Setting GDM resolution without knowing the monitor specs
We had a complaint recently from a customer that received a server we shipped out that their monitor just showed a black screen. It turns out that they?d hooked it up to an ancient POS with 800x600 as its best resolution, and gdm in CentOS 7 apparently assumes at least 1024x768. It was apparently a major hassle for them to hunt down a reasonable monitor for us. Since we almost never use the GUI
