About Unicorn Rack handler
Hi, A couple days ago, I was trying to run Unicorn for Ramaze, and found that `Unicorn.run'' didn''t share the same interface with other Rack handlers, i.e. `options[:Host]'' and `options[:Port]'' Because of this, I can''t just use: Rack::Handler.register(''unicorn'', ''Unicorn'') And invoke this:

Edge Rails 3: Mongrel stuck in infinite loop, Unicorn missing uninitialized constant Rack::Runtime
Hi, I wanted to try out Edge Rails 3 today and hit a serious problem trying to run mongrel. script/rails server mongrel just hangs. Interrupting and looking up the spot of the lockup revealed $LOAD_PATH.unshift ''projects/mongrel_experimental/lib/'' Mongrel::Gems.require ''mongrel_experimental'', ">=#{Mongrel::Const::MONGREL_VERSION}" at the bottom

Webgeb 0.5.x possible in Windows XP?
Hi Colin, I think fcgi is only required for testing. I do without it and directly open the output files in my browser. Maybe try saying no to ramaze or whatever depends on fcgi? FreeBSD 8.2 XENHVM Kernel on Xencloud
Good afternoon, The subject practically is saying what I''m trying to ask but... does anyone tried FreeBSD 8.2 or similar under Cytrix Xenserver or XenCloud?. I have been doing some benchmarks and seems to perform pretty nice... and seems to be stable too; the only thing would be nice to be available for FreeBSD at Xenserver/Xencloud would be the Xenserver/Xencloud''s

Mongrel 0.3.5 -- Rails/CGI Actually Works
This release of Mongrel features a CGIWrapper that actually works. The previous code was complete garbage so this one should fix the problems with sessions, cookies, and content-types people reported previously. There is also now a correctly built Win32 gem created by Luis Lavena. Luis joined the Mongrel project and will be working on the Win32 specific gear needed. His first thing is going to

Mongrel 1.1.4, possible bug http_response
Hi, I found this while digging inside mongrel to provide IO streaming for mongrel (and thus for Rack and Ramaze): * In socket_error a local variable done is set, which has no effect. * done=() always sets to true, where it (for completeness sake) should honor the passed value. --- a/http_response.rb 2008-03-11 16:59:24.000000000 +0100 +++ b/http_response.rb 2008-03-11 17:02:20.000000000

Webgen as a backend for a end-user friendly CMS?
Hi all, I just had the idea of using webgen as a backend for an end-user friendly CMS. Such an end-user would for example be someone who has no programming or computer skills that go beyond using M$ Word. After logging into a friendly, graphic-based admin area of the website (e.g. PHP or Ruby-based), he/she can easily create, change, delete menu nodes, text content, and do a lot of other

HOWTO install webgen 0.5.6 on Debian GNU/Linux etch
Hi all, Cristian our sys-admin wrote a short HOWTO for Webgen 0.5.6 on Debian Etch, see https://wiki.fsfe.org/FellowshipHacks/Webgen. I thought it might be of interest for others as well. If you know a better way, please let us know. Best wishes, Matthias -- Deputy German Coordinator, Fellowship Coordinator Free Software Foundation Europe (FSFE) [] (http://fsfeurope.org) Join the

Linux, UNIX, XP32, Vista X64 or ...? [SEC=UNCLASSIFIED]
Dear All, I am currently using R in Windows PC with a 2 GB of RAM. Some pretty large datasets are expected soon, perhaps in an order of several GB. I am facing a similar situation like Ralph, either to get a new PC with a bigger RAM or else. I am just wondering if R is getting faster in other systems like UNIX or Linux. Any suggestions are appreciated. Regards, Jin

Mongrel and Sandbox
Z-Man, DHH recently said: "And [_why''s] latest work on sandbox looks stellar. Making it drop-dead easy to run multiple Rails applications in the same Mongrel process without conflicts. Thumbs up to both him and Matz for getting Sandbox on track for inclusion with the next Ruby release." Does that mean what I think it means - that one or more Mongrel processes may one day be

1.0.2
Hi all, 1.0.2 final will drop as soon as I get the win32 builds from Luis. Watch for it. In the future we won''t do RCs but will just make point releases, because no one really installed them except for ourselves. This is what Zed used to do and what we should have done all along. Note that the bug tracker is empty:

1.9
Hey so, People are asking about Mongrel Ruby 1.9 compatibility. Isn''t the point of 1.9 for library developers to have time to get ready for 2.0? It''s not like 1.9 is a production release. Evan -- Evan Weaver Cloudburst, LLC

Mongrel 0.3.6 -- Win32 Service/Rails Real Good
Hello Folks, This release of Mongrel should make the win32 folks go crazy. Thanks to Luis Lavena it supports a full service system for installing any Rails app as a service. This lets you start your rails apps from either the command line or the Service console. Stopping is still a bit problematic but we hope to have that solved in the next release. You win32 folks should probably send Luis

Problems with XP32-"3GB-patch"?/ Worth upgrading to Vista X64?
Dear R-Users, as I will start a huge simulation in a few weeks, I am about to buy a new and fast PC. I have noticed, that the RAM has been the limiting factor in many of my calculations up to now (I had 2 GB in my "old" system, but Windows still used quite a lot of virtual memory), hence my new computer will have 4 GB of fast DDR2-800 RAM. However, I know that 1.) Windows 32 bit cannot

"conventional cluster management software"
I saw this in the openfiler thread, and realised it is another major hole in my knowledge What do you all use for clustering, and does it run out-of-the-box with CentOS? My main areas of interest are : - DB clustering (PostgreSQL) - yeah, we're looking at commercial stuff and skytools - web server clustering - Apache on CentOS - storage clustering thanks, -Alan -- ?Don't eat anything
