No, Linux's python has no notion of COM (which is obviously a win32 only thing). And windows python doesn't work all that well on Wine.

Naturally speaking under wine help needed
[[apologies if this is a dupe. gmane is a bit odd sometimes]] I need some help on a handicap accessibility project. It's really great for people like me that naturally speaking is working in wine (mostly). One important shortcoming is getting our dictated text into linux. Today, in order to copy text from the wine environment and place it in the Linux environment, we need to dictate into

Regression in Wine 0.9.5 : Dragon Naturally Speaking no longer runs
Dear list, A bit of caveat : I upgraded wine to the all-new 0.9.5 release, and lost the use of Dragon Naturally Speaking. The error box reports an "Access violation" error, and refers to Dragon's own log ; the latter report a segment violation and barfs a somewhat largish stack dump (available on request). I am looking for older (i. e. <=0.9.4) version of Scott Ritchie's

Regression: Dragon Naturally Speaking 7.
I had installed Dragon Naturally Speaking under Wine 1.1.7 and earlier, and it was working fine. But now under Wine 1.1.9, the result seems to be, that the toolbar for this application first goes into a strange state, where the (Linux) cursor disappears whenever the mouse is positioned over the application's toolbar. And using winecfg to emulate a virtual desktop does not change this

New Linux user with installation woes
My apologies if this has cropped up before, but a search and a look at the FAQ hasn't given me much. I'm a total newbie with the whole Linux thing. I've currently got a dual boot Ubuntu/Windows XP setup with a wireless adaptor as my means of internet. The driver that comes with the adaptor only talks Windows, and so it won't appear to work when I boot in Ubuntu. The only way I

Dragon NaturallySpeaking 11.5
I tried to install Dragon NaturallySpeaking 11.5 with wine on Debian Squeeze. My Wine version is 1.0.1-3.1. It installed Visual C++ 9.0 runtime, but failed to install Microsoft .NET framework, and so the installation failed. Is the solution merely to upgrade my Wine to version 1.4 to install NaturallySpeaking11.5? l Or is the goal to install this ".NET framework". What is it and how

Hi folks, I'm presently having my second foray into Wine. I'm running Ubuntu 8.04 on a machine with 3GB memory. Problem installing Dragon NaturallySpeaking 12.0 -- possible regression?
I am suddenly having a problem installing Dragon NaturallySpeaking 12.0. I have the following wine. wine-1.5.16 I tried twice, following my own directions. $ env WINEARCH=win32 WINEPREFIX=~/.wine winecfg $ winetricks dotnet40 $ wine Dragon12Home_E.exe The first time I didn't uninstall mono first, and the second time I did. Both times crashed. I have a log. Anyone want to take a look?
