When ever I try to run FEAR 2 or Half-Life in Steam the "Preparing to launch" window comes up and then disappears. I assume every game I have will do this same thing, but it takes way to long to install anything in Steam. [1.2-rc7]-Really High CPU % Running Steam? Hi, I'm running current Steam client in Wine 1.2-rc7 on Ubuntu 10.04 32bit. My CPU usage for "Steam.exe" is 90%+? I have tried multiple times to connect to steam without success after updating to 1.1.8. Internet connection works, as I can access pages in firefox, and steam is not down, as I can log in through a vm with no problems. Currently running Ubuntu 8.10 with Wine 1.1.8 Any suggestions?

ok i've waited a day with steam running and i've stoped and started steam many times and my games still don't show up in the "my games" tab.
