x-server with 2screens blanks while starting wine
Hi! I just setup my ati radeon 9500 with fglrxconfig from the ati 3.7 drivers on a 2.6 kernel. I use primary a monitor and configured the x config file to use the tv as a second monitor which uses a different driver (graphic device section) due to different resolutions. All works pretty perfect, except for wine. No matter what i start in wine, my primary monitor blanks out while the tv keeps on

diablo 1 fun and troubles
I have installed Diablo 1 lately and found Wine can't load the game succesfully. I see a few frames of Blizzard's intro, then it freezes. With Cedega 4.0 it works pretty well> I played for a couple hours then found later I can't load my games back. Ain't that funny? It seems to be a menu problem. Another thing I noticed with Cedega is, multiplayer hangs really quick.

Screen resolution switch with DGA
This has me baffled. I run Diablo 2 under Wine, works absolutely flawlessly in every way. I have DGA enabled, and a 800x600 desktop (also tried the Managed and Unmanaged options). Thing is, my X desktop is 1600x1200x16bpp and of course Diablo 2 is only 800x600. Is there any way to have this resolution automagically change to 800x600 (nothing seems to do that here), and back when I exit it? I

Civ3 works, but a weird resolution problem
How do you force a game todo 800x600? Ive specified... "Managed" = "Y" "Desktop" = "800x600" "UseDGA" = "Y" "UseXShm" = "Y" "DXGrab" = "Y" "DesktopDoubleBuffered" = "Y" The actual game (Civ III), runs fine, its just too big for my 800x600 setup, its some how stretched out...

Network installation from CD
Hi, In a corporate environment we are not allowed to use DHCP/PXE for doing network installations. This means we have to look for other solutions. Our solution is to use an ISO image (mounted via a KVM solution) to kick off the network installation. A big problem currently is that the order of the network interfaces is arbitrary (depends on the order of the drivers loaded) and is not

From: Collins Richey > Sounds pretty religious-based to me. > IBM=bad > HP,Sun, RedHat, SCO=good. > OTOH, from some of your comments, Novell=better. Are you really that shallow? IBM is our partner, not our friend. Sun has its interests too, and has 5 different entities of focus, which vary. Starcraft and Diablo II use a lot of CPU power
Hello, I am running Wine 1.0 under Fedora 9 x86_64. The problem is that the two mentioned games use a lot of CPU power about 50 % on a 2 Ghz Core 2 Duo. At first I thought this is caused by GDI DirectDraw renderer, but changing to opengl did not help. Also, it is just the same when you configure Diablo to use Direct3D renderer. Does anybody has any idea where can I look for the source of this
