Help with using the WINEDEBUG variable
Hi users.
I have found the WINEDEBUG variable to be very useful. However, now that my
program starts, using WINEDEBUG=trace,+all or WINEDEBUG=+all creats log
files well over 2.0 GB.
I am trying to find messages like the following:
0009:trace:seh:EXC_RtlRaiseException code=c0000005 flags=0 addr=0x4725f1
(and the few lines above it) to try and figure out what's causing my

Debugging an exception
Hello.
I'm trying to get Dungeon Siege to run with wine 0.9.26.
When the menu firt appears, there is an error as soon as the mouse is moved;
if I don't move the mouse, there is no error, but I can't play the game.
I did a WINEDEBUG=+relay, and I found this:

d3d_caps error
Hello all,
I just installed Linux Mint Debian Edition, which I have used in the past with Wine, and I'm trying to get Riven to run (which, again, I've used with Wine on this OS before). Wine isn't in the LMDE repository anymore for some reason, so I had to compile it myself (v. 1.2.3). I was able to install the game without a hitch, but when I try to run the EXE I get:

Debugging my first app
Hi everybody, I'm trying to run 'The typing of the dead'.
When I start the application, it crashes with the log attached. I've
tried to track down the faulty function, I've used WINEDEBUG=+seh, but I
don't know what to look for.
Any hints?

Trying old multimedia app, get crash
I'm running an old Windows 98-era app created by an outfit called the Media Cafe. It's called "The Ring Disc" and is an interactive version of Wagner's Ring.
I'm running Wine 1.3.23 on Mac OS X 10.6.8. The changes I made were to configure audio as CoreAudio, and to set the overall system to Windows 98 (and I tried ME as well). What I see is that the application starts

Some dsound oddness
I had noticed a few weeks ago that sound for me on Riven was now having
problems. It used to be almost perfect, but now it was suddenly doing
things like changing pitch and speed, losing sync with the video, and
breaking up.
Of course I initially suspected a regression, though no one else
mentioned problems. I just now got around to spending a bit more time on
it and found it was not a

Trouble with Team Fortress 2
Greetings fellow Wine users,
????????I saw a prior message in the archives from 'darckness cyrix12 at
cox.net' mentioning a problem trying to run TF2. I'm running on the latest
git, or wine-0.9.45-426-g71d70f0, and appear to be having a similar problem.
I have a gzip of a log with WINEDEBUG=+tid,+seh,+loaddll,+d3d,+d3d_shader,
+d3d9 [1], running Steam and attempting to launch TF2.

screen size and screen location
I am trying to find a way to control
what size screen my wine app things it has. How is this done?
Example my screen is 1600x1200 but I only want the wine app to
think the max screen size is 1024x768. How do I do this?
Also, Can I then control where the smaller window opens?
Like at position 100,100 on the screen for example.
THanks for any pointers to these two issues,
Jerry

Unhandled exception, but not always
Hello all.
I tried running the Max Payne 2 demo.
It aborts very quickly with an unhandled exception.
err:seh:EXC_DefaultHandling Exception frame is not in stack limits => unable to dispatch exception.
What's strange is that is I start it with WINEDEBUG="+all", it works! But if
I start it with WINEDEBUG="+loaddll,+module" then it fails again.
Why this behavior?

Team Fortress 2 (Half Life 2) trouble
Hi,
I've been in #winehq all day with this and nobody seemed to have any
ideas, so I figured I'd post here.
I recently installed TF2, which is an official HL2 mod. No problems
with installation. The problem is that when I launch the game itself,
it crashes almost immediately and I get the error in the attached log
(made using WINEDEBUG=+tid,+seh,+loaddll,+d3d,+d3d_shader,+d3d9). Thus

Larousse Multilingue: stack overflow in exception handler ?
Hi all,
I'm trying to run the Larousse Multilingue Dictionnary
pack. I've tried to run it under wine 0.9.17 (from
codeweaver), 0.9.25 (from debian testing) 0.9.28 (from
debian unstable) and 0.9.29 (from source).
My wine setting is functional since I can use an older
Larousse dictionnary (Bibliorom), no problem at all for any
of the versions above.
I downloaded a (legal) version of the

How to debug?
In a wine bug report I have been asked to attach a compressed
+tid,+seh,+relay,+msi log. I have been googling for over two hours
trying to find out just how to do that. Can someone please RTFM me
with a link to information that explains how to do that? If you find
it via google, I would like to know what keywords you used. Thanks in
advance.

Help with debugging fatal exception in Dreamweaver
Hello list.
I've been bantering back and forth with some members here regarding a fatal

(Kernel 2.4.22) and wine 20050419. Dreamweaver was installed with wine
20040408 and I have tried other versions in between.
The error is "Dreamweaver encountered a fatal exception. Dreamweaver will
now terminate."

Future Tax Regression
Hi to all,
I'm trying to run a Canadian income tax program called FutureTax2010 (www.futuretax.ca) under wine 1.2 and 1.3 beta, but there appears to be a regression. It runs under wine 1.0.1, and loads OK under 1.3, but when I try to open an existing (known valid) file FT pops up a message box that says "An unsupported operation was attempted".
