Newbie: any hope of running a dongle-protected app? Aladdin HASP on LPT1...
Hi, I'm a complete Wine newbie, still in the "Shock and Awe" stage... so apologies for obvious stupidities. I'm trying to run a VB6 app, probably 1999-vintage, under Wine. It is protected by a parallel port dongle from Aladdin. The app installs, the HASP drivers (latest version) apparently install, but when I run the app it tells me "HASP device driver not

BioExplorer in Wine with HASP
BioExplorer is a program for biofeedback. It comes with a USB dongle which must be plugged in for the program to start. The program automatically tries to install the drivers for Windows, but that doesn't work in Wine: The message "Cannot open HASP driver" appears when trying to run BioExplorer. I have installed the (completely up-to-date) run-time system including driver from

Parallel port HASP
Does anyone know how to get Wine to recognize an LPT1: port with a HASP (dongle) installed? I use a program called Magic V7 by Magic Software Enterprises (www.magic-sw.com) The Deployment module works fine under Wine, but the Development module looks to the parallel port to verify that the dongle is installed. I get a "Protection Violation" error which under Windows meant that the HASP

Parallel port HASP - still battling
I use a Windows Relational Database program called Magic V7. (www.magic-sw.com) It has a Development and Deployment module. The Deployment module works fine under Wine (I still have a few database issues as the Windows ver uses Pervasive SQL). However the Development module has a Hasp (plug) attached the LPT1: port and a Windows driver called hasp95.exe. Assuming that there isn't a Linux

The easiest way to restore timestamps of files?
Please, is possible (with rsync) re-create files timestamps? I mean something like choosing a "-T" in the program mirror- from it's man page e.g. there: http://sunsite.univie.ac.at/textbooks/mirror/mirror.html#Flags "Do not do any file transfers just force the time-stamps of any local files to be reset to be the same as the remote files. TVPaint (SafeNet dongle protection)
Hi, I'd like to use TVPaint with Wine. I know it can run (I ran the demo witch desn't need the SafeNet dongle installation, there is a few "bugs" but it still can be used.) I've been told someone did a patch to use SafeNet sentinel protection dongle (I've try to use it but unsuccessfully as I'm not very good for programming). Can someone tell me if it's planned

The easiest way for Fedora 14 to Centos 6 migration?
I manage several Fedora 14 servers. They was not upgraded due to several reasons (systemd unreliability, K12LTSP support absence), some newer packages I was building & updating manually, some other (OpenOffice, Mozilla) was possible update from projects binaries. Now I consider the options to migrate them to Centos 6, possibly the easiest possible way. What I'd like is some as yum
