I have, I think, successfully installed Wine 1.0.1 on Ubuntu 9.04. Notepad seems to work and I managed to install an app although I uninstalled it again as the app didn't run. However, if I browse the c: drive and go to Program Files > Internet Explorer and try to run iexplore.exe all I get is a window with just Wine Internet Explorer in the window but no IE. I have installed a CAD/CAM program call eCabinets (its a free program for woodworking and cabinet shops). When it starts, its asks for its registration code which I have. It then tries to open the default internet connections to register but eventually times out. By the looks of things, it its acting like a firewall is blocking it.
