Multi-Track-Single-Logical-Stream Ogg-Vorbis (mogg) vs Multi-Track-Multi-Logical-Stream Ogg-Vorbis
Hi All, I am in the midst of developing a library for easily recording multi-track audio for a court recording system. Well, it can be used for anything, but this is its first intended use. The idea is to simultaneously capture/compress/archive 8 to 16 mono sources (microphones) in an Ogg container using Vorbis. Then later, be able to play back only selected logical streams, or

Need help with Oblivion
Good evening my fellow Linux enthusiasts, for some time now I've been trying to run "The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion" on WINE with very little success. I've gotten it to play but with no sound and very glitchy graphics. The various menus flicker wildly and the characters are messed up. A while ago I launched Oblivion from the terminal and here's what I got from it:

Starcraft 2, oblivion, potentially skyrim and dota2?
Hello! I'm considering to get Linux on my computer, and do you guys think it would be reasonable easy to start up skyrim at the release date without TOO much work? Does starcraft 2 run easily? Oblivion? and potentially DoTA2? I know it might be difficult to answer about the Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, but since I think you guys know your sh***. I thought you'd might have an idea :) Best

Re: Black skin in The Elder Scrolls 4 Oblivion

Sadly this isn't one of the ones Winetricks has by itself, so you need to add it in and set the override manually in winecfg. Winetricks of d3dx9 will also get this along with many other dlls, and I tested it before and Oblivion

Mouse still not working properly on OS X with 1.4
This has been an ongoing issue with all of the 1.4 releases. In several games, notably Oblivion, Fallout 3, Fallout:NV, and Far Cry, the mouse will not function properly. On main menus, the mouse will be stuck in one quadrant of the screen, as if what the mouse thinks the screen boundaries are is not aligned with the actual boundaries. In game, the mouse swings wildly all over the screen,

Re: Oblivion graphics problem
I have a similar problem. Some characters are see through, and random stuff jumps out, like to white lines when I draw out my fists right above the my fists. Gameplay is okay, with no lagging. Also, I can't install its patch for the North American English version. Is this a regression?

SecuROM and Wine on Mac OS X
Bah! Okay, so I'm running WINE v1.1.43 on Mac OS X.6.3. Now, I went and bought myself a copy of Oblivion (Game of the Year Edition), but it's got smelly SecuROM in it, which I understand WINE supports? However, whenever I try to run one of the "protected" (from customers) programs it complains that there is no disk. The disk however is there alright, and I have a mapping for

Oblivion regression exposed by video description patch
I found a regression in Oblivion that results in flickering shadows. It requires the video driver/description patch in order to see it, otherwise shadows don't work at all.Since the patch itself is probably not causing the issue, should I post a bug report? I believe the issue may be in The Last Remnant as well, but I'm not sure it's the same issue (and it happens very infrequently,

Wine just changes screen resolution.
I'm quite new to Ubuntu and so to Wine too. So I installed Oblivion using Wine, and everything went well. But when I tried to run the game, nothing else happened but the screen resolution changed to 640x480. That happened when I clicked "Launch Game" on the start up menu of the game. Should I change some conffigurations or something?

Wxruby Homepage Hijacked
Hi, It seems like the wxruby homepage has been replaced by a mortgage broker. I do need to refinance, but I was more interested in some documentation on wxruby. Is this a sign that the project is fading into oblivion? If so, I would really like to know what new cross-platform library people are using for developing ruby desktop applications. Josh

Low Framerate in Oblivion
I've been getting max 10 FPS in Oblivion, even with extremely low graphics settings. Any ideas why? I didn't have any problems with running Oblivion on Windows, and even for Wine this seems quite low. I think it might be my graphics card drivers possibly. OS: Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic GPU: nVidia 8600M GT CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2 GHz GPU Driver: Version 195 (I got it by going System ->
