Wine fails to install Adobe PS
I have tried a few rtimes now to install Abobe PS7 (not a crack) on the latest Linux Mint and now on Ubuntu 8.10 64bit. I am having the same problem in both. Is it because my new comp is a 64bit?
An error occurred while loading the archive.

Autoplay option
Hello!
I don't like the recent change to the plugin that makes some flash files
to play automatically. I know that GUI design is not my thing, but let
me explain what I don't like:
1) It's not obvious to the user that the "play" toggle is persistent.
Media players don't change their behavior just because the user presses
the "play" button.
2) No user who

[PATCH] Add autoplay policy configuration to mozilla plugin
Hi,
this patch implements the gui for changing the autoplay policy from the
mozilla plugin. The three possible configuration are: always autoplay, never
autoplay and check last choice for the same host.
The idea implemented is to have the global autoplay key be not overriden by
the per host configuration. If the global autoplay key is not present the
behaviour of the actual implementation is

ps/eps/Word
Thanks to all who offered advice on how to solve a loss of resolution
problem involving ps from R, ps -> eps from Acrobat, and Word.
It appears that this problem will need to be resolved inside R. If I try
to add anything additional (more text, clipart embellishments) to a ps/eps
file (using, say, Adobe Acrobat, PaintShop Pro, Powerpoint, or Adobe
Illustrator), it gets placed as a

[PATCH] Manage host based autoplaying from plugin menu
Hi,
attached a patch that provides the ability to set / unset autoplaying
from the domain the flash come from within the plugin menu. This patch
does not touch the actual logic of setting autoplay automatically on
play start. Hope this is acceptable for inclusion.
There is only a nitpick, the checkbox of the autoplaying is not updated
once the playing is toggled.
I've tried to tackle that

Problems printer PS 1.1 vs. 1.3/1.4
I just ran into a most interesting situation. I am running CentOS 5.2
(2.6.18-92.1.22.el5) x86_64 with all the latest updates.
I recently converted a TIF to a PDF using tiff2pdf, and then tried to
print the file. Now, this has worked for me many times in the past,
so I wasn't expecting any trouble at all.
Instead, my printer, a Brother 2140 laser printer, which has printed

I appreciate the parable of helping non-technical users (or, more
precisely, users not keen on IT). As I understand, placement of
software like Word or Photoshop servers this purpose. But both of them
have decent open-source counterparts, and they are better fit for an
rsync manual. Or, if from any reason proprietary software is preferred
in this context (perhaps because it generates even more

Nah, this is the first time I've posted here in years. Gennaly things just
tick over with the application moving along in a nice straightforward
manner, improvment upon improvement. Rsync is one of the mose important and
usefu apps available for Linux and OS X (powered by APPLE!!!!); followed by
ffmpeg and vlc (and Apache, I guess, but I don't do much of that anymore).
