Cossacks (All Versions)
I've been watching the appdb, and have been upgrading to each new
version of wine ... I've tried running Cossacks through VNC (to get 8
bit colour), and I've tried changing video cards (twice)... all to no
avail ...
The two Bugs listed for Cossacks are still shown as unconfirmed ...
As long as you rename the Video directory, it loads up fine - sound
works great, input works

Cossacks Back To War
I have a problem with Cossacks Back To War. I've just read that it works on Ubuntu 10 right here http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=10427 so I decided to install it on my PC. The problem is that the pointer in the game doesn't move and I can't play or even start a new game. Any ideas on how to fix it?
Thanks.

Clarification of ratings...
I was browsing apps and looking for games that run in Wine as Gold or better.
The issue is that I see many apps listed as gold that require recompiling Wine with patches to get them to work. From my understanding, any application that requires code changes should be listed as garbage and tied to a patch/bug to be able to operate. That and any application that ranks higher should run under a

How to get IE6 stable?
Hello,
I installed IE6 with both WineTools and IEs4Linux (under different user
accounts).
Most of the features work, but IE often hangs. Then I can only kill the
process.
Has someone got IE6 stable under WINE?
If so, which WINE version do I have to use and how shall I configure
it?
Thanks in advance,
Colin Finck

S100U / wcusb Zaptel driver / Crash / Kernel problem maybe?
Hi Everyone,
I've been using Asterisk now for a few months for my small office (which
is mostly just me while other guys are always on the road so we rely
heavily on telephones) - I'm very excited with Asterisk as it can do
everything I've ever wanted to do with a PBX.
I'm having a problem with an S100U USB --> Telephone interface. I
haven't actually made it work yet

Returning position of mouse cursor (without button press) ?
I would like a function that return the X,Y position of the mouse cursor
whenever it is called PERIOD, i.e., without the button presses of locator()
or identify().
E.G.,
> where.is.mouse()
[1] 123 34 # X and Y coordinates of present mouse position in current
graphics window
Is this a conceivable R function or does it need to be addressed with a call
to the OS (Windows 2000 in my case)?

FC4, Samba 3.0.14-2, Windows 2K: cannot access home directory
What might be the possible causes of an smbclient NT_STATUS_BAD_NETWORK_NAME
error? smbclient generates this error when I attempt to connect to my [homes]
share from a Mandrake Linux 10.1 (Samba 3.0.7) box to my Fedora Core 4 box
(Samba 3.0.14a-2). Similarly, my Windows 2000 machine complains that folder

Mapping foreign frames from dom0
Hello,
I am hacking on a Mini-OS that is able to run as domain 0 and is able to
start a guest (another Mini-OS for now). I was able to get a memory
allocated to the guest and am now trying to build its pagetable and
after that copy the kernel to the right places. The problem is:
Given a machine frame number from a memory frame of the guest, how do I
conceptionally map this into

Program entries not working
Dear All
After various failed attempts at using Wine I have installed this from
the Mandriva 2006 DVD. I have version ?Wine 20050725?.
I have installed Paint Shop Pro as follows:
As a user I typed: ?Winecfg? and when in the configuration programme I
went to the Application tab > Add Application button > browse to the
installation executable: ?/mnt/cdrom/autorun.exe? > Open button

Secondary groups and Posix ACL
I've got a very odd situation occurring. I recently upgraded to Samba
2.0.26a and now secondary group membership doesn't work.
On the filesystem I have this layout
/derek
/derek/Folder 1
/derek/Folder 2
derek has these ACLs
# file: derek
# owner: root
# group: root
user::rwx
group::r-x
other:r-x
Folder 1 has these ACLs
# file: Folder 1
# owner: root
# group: g1
user::rwx

[Fwd: TDM40B - "Unable to play dialtone on channel X" ?]
Hi everyone,
Sorry for forwarding and top-posting this email again but its as if my
TDM40b has keeled over yesterday. After a few hours last night and
swapping the card to another asterisk server (with exactly the same
result) I needed to have the FXS ports working ASAP this morning so I
have repaced the functionality of the TDM40b with some Grandstream
handytones which I already had in

Listening on multiple ports
Many thanks - it doesn't work for me, however. There must be something
in my configuration somewhere else, perhaps nothing to do with Dovecot,
that prevents this.

Samba Comple Problem on Solaris 2.8
So I am compling the newest release of samba 3.0.14a on Solaris 2.8.
I can get it to compile but I don't get all the built in modules that I
should and smbd when fired up bombs out with something like,
-------
derek@supernova:/opt/UMsmb/sbin# ./smbd -c /etc/samba/smb.conf -i
smbd version 3.0.14a started.

FW: Nat & Sip & Pain
Hi Ray,
I was wondering if the "qualify" option is used [in sip.conf] to keep a
connection (from the SIP phone inside the firewall to the Asterisk
server outside the firewall) open then would the firewall not allow two
way communication without incoming port mapping/NAT (providing that the
SIP phone started "talking" first)?
I'm not sure about that - I'm being

Why would any REMOTE WILDCARD = "No match" ???
Using newest rsync on Mac OS X:
Why would THIS work:
rsync -avze ssh derek@mydomain.com:/home/derek/digitize.pub ./
But THIS immediately shoot back a "No match" error:
rsync -avze ssh derek@mydomain.com:/home/derek/*.pub ./
The 2nd example doesn't even try to log in.
Rsync just immediately shoots back this error:
rsync: No match.
Wildcard DOES work locally: THIS WORKS:
