user/password Authentication via Joomla database
Hello, did anyone ever set up Authentication via lookups to a Joomla (mysql) database? What I'd like to do is lookup Joomla users (who are in specific/multiple groups) in the Joomla database and then fallback to /etc/passwd authentication to let system users authenticate. I'm running : # 2.2.35 (b1cb664): /usr/local/etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf # OS: FreeBSD 11.1-RELEASE-p10 amd64 Thanks

Open Source Content Management System - Joomla
There was some discussion in the past about which one is the best Content Management System that can be used in conjunction with Asterisk. Mambo was supposed to be the best out there under GPL. The guys who developed Mambo have a new product now - Joomla. I am using this and it appears to be better than Mambo in many respects. Read the gist about Joomla below. ------------- If you've read

MultiLingual option for site with Rails
Hi, I was wondering if there is a plugin or a code snippet, that would translate the static content [possibly dynamic too] on the website for the visitors coming from different geographical regions of the world. In one of my earlier projects, I used the plugin on Joomla [CMS] that auto translates the content. Here is the site, the plugin is at the left bottom. http://www.elixirco.com/ Any

looking for a decent free / Open Source flash media server
Hi all, I hope someone can help me with this one. I am looking for a decent free / Open Source flash media server software which I can run on a Linux server. Adobe's Flash Media Server (http://www.adobe.com/products/flashmediaserver/) is very expensive and not within any reasonable cost range (R40K+). Hardened PHP? Suhosin patch?
Hi, I'm running a few PHP-based apps on our server (PMB, SPIP, Joomla, PHPMyAdmin), and I'm not always comforted about security. I don't know the details, but many a security expert frowns when it comes to PHP. Now I just stumbled over this: http://www.hardened-php.net/suhosin.127.html Has anyone already tried this out? An opinion about it? Is it worth it? Since I have to

CentOS 5 and ndiswrapper
This is an abbreviated version of an e-mail that I also posted to the ndiswrapper mailing list. Compressing the long story, I ran into the same problem using CentOS 5 as I had with Fedora Core 6 and ndiswrapper: my laptop (HP Pavilion zv6000 series with a Broadcom BCM43xx wireless NIC) would lock up or spontaneously reboot after a few hours if I brought up the wireless interface. I also

does somebody use XCode on Mac for RoR instead of TextMate?
does somebody use XCode on Mac for RoR instead of TextMate? I wonder how is it compared to TextMate... TextMate uses the default font of Monaco... the Xcode screenshot on Wikipedia uses Courier... I wonder if Xcode looks as good as TextMate when the font is changed to Monaco as well? Thank you. -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

I've decided to use Rails... (I hope I made the right decision).
I''ve read a ton of comparisons that compare one framework to another, and one language to another. There''s so much conflicting advice out there that it''s hard to know what is best. Did I make the right choice choosing Rails for my first web project? I guess we''ll see. The only reason why I''m hesitant is that a lot of the big name sites use php

We will have huge amounts of data that we would want to search. - on multiple tables. I went through the plugins acts_as_ferret and acts_as_solr. but ferret seems to have a locking problem at high load and solr needs a java server. So what do you

When to dive into Rails?
Hello people! This is my first post here and generally the first post I''m making on the web regarding Ruby or Rails. I come from PHP and especially Joomla. I can''t say I have done some "serious" development till now. I''ve developed small projects but never something ''big''. But these last months I''m very productive and I have a
