On this machine I am user 'richard' ... and user richard is a member of the group 'dialout'. Is this sufficient to access and control port 'com1' ... because if I lack permissions ... then even if there is a link from dosdevices com1 to /dev/ttyS0 ...wine will not be able to access com1.
