Bug 13517: Forums breaking mailing list
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=13517 Is Wine going to have to lose even more experienced users over a stupid bug? Does WineHQ really value new users over those who have the knowledge and are willing to help? Let's move towards resolution on this and consolidate on Google Groups already, before it's too late. -- Paul Johnson baloo at ursine.ca -------------- next part

Statistics forums
Hi, Given that the R forum is mostly a site to discuss issues related to the language, are there any forums that discuss statistical issues? I am specifically interested in the statistical issues in experimental design. Re: Sum-up: Re-proposal: web forums
Hello, I have noted below problems that we can take care of, and those that aren't our problem, never were, never will be, impossible to be our problem, (you get the picture), because they are PEBKAC errors :) For all of those that don't know: PEBKAC = Problem Exists Between Keyboard and Chair. Quicken Home & Office 2002
First, let me apologize if this has been asked/answered numerous times, but I cannot seem to find a searchable mailing list archive for wineusers. After a 1.5 year break from trying to get quicken home & office 2002 to work under wine, I tried again this weekend. Install went well. I could not register because the registration box was empty -- though it seemed to get further than it has in

Google newsgroup or Forum setup.
I am sure this has been asked before, but why not use Google newsgroup or at least some forum BBS software instead of this cumbersome mailing list process? -- Costas Menico Meezon Software Corp 201-224-8111 costas@meezon.com --

OT: Forum or mailing list for Bash-related questions?
Hi, The subject says it all. After a few years of writing scripts the quick and dirty way, I've decided to take the plunge and learn Bash correctly, using the O'Reilly Bash Cookbook. I'm currently looking for the right place to ask questions, but curiously enough, Google searches about "bash forum" result in nothing conclusive. I took a peek in the corresponding USENET

Wine is very slow
Hi, I'm trying to perform a installation of FF8 with wine, but the installation is very slow. About 2h to perform 10% of the install. Is there any reason about that ? I've a good configuration so it's not the fault of my pc. Second, no network connexion is available. Can I make it works ? Thx for your help. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...

Using a function to consolidate variables
Dear List, I'm getting the error: object of type 'closure' is not subsettable And am not sure how to get around the problem. I've included two short code sets below. One that shows what I want to do and works, but without using the function much, and another that tries to use the function but causes the error. # THIS WORKS AND SHOWS WHAT I'D LIKE TO DO a <- c(1,2,3) b

Hello, the same parameter for colour and shape aesthetics gives 2 legends: library(ggplot2) p <- ggplot(mtcars, aes(x=wt, y=mpg)) p + geom_point(aes(colour=factor(cyl), shape=factor(cyl))) Can the 2 legends be consolidated to one with colours and shapes of the symbols matched between legend and plot ? [PATCH v3 4/6] x86: Consolidate PCI_MMCONFIG configs
From: Jan Kiszka <jan.kiszka at siemens.com> Since e279b6c1d329 ("x86: start unification of arch/x86/Kconfig.*"), we have two PCI_MMCONFIG entries, one from the original i386 and another from x86_64. This consolidates both entries into a single one. The logic for x86_32, where this option was not under user control, remains identical. On x86_64, PCI_MMCONFIG becomes additionally

[PATCH 1/4] firstboot: consolidate line ending conversion
This patch moves line ending conversion for windows scripts into a separate helper function. This simplifies code a bit, and fixes the problem that actual firstboot scripts used to remain with unix-style line endings.
