problem with DNS in wine - need help
Hi I am new to wine and looking for help.
I run wine 1.3.28 over Ubuntu 11.10 (32 bit).
I installed Firfox 7.01 - no problem during the instalation process, and the application loads fine.
But it seems that DNS does not function as I can't access any site by name only by IP.
The linux version of Firefox (one that runs from ubuntu) works fine.
help aappreciated.

I want to install a new version of Wine because the one I installed with apt-get in Debian is quite old and buggy (0.9.25).
So after doing "apt-get uninstall wine", I followed this guide (http://www.winehq.org/site/download-deb), to install a newer wine version but encountered a few problems:

I would like install Wine on a system that has Ubuntu 9.10 but NO access to the Internet.
I have another system with Ubuntu 8.04 which can access Internet, but the instructions at http://www.winehq.org/download/deb
seem to imply that it would install the Wine on my 8.04 machine.
Is there any binary I could download that I could put on a

libwine 20041019 needed
Hello,
I am deinstalling wine and reinstalling at the
20041019 level. I'm running the 2.6.11.7 kernel with
the debian distribution. In Aptitude I need to
reinstall wine, winetools and libwine. I can find the
20041019 version for everything except libwine. I
think libwine must be known by a different name in the
rest of the *nix world. I am downloading the RH9 RPM

Where are older packages?
I'm using Debian Etch 4.0 and would like to get the packages for:
libwine
libwine-dev
for WINE 0.9.47
Does anybody know where I can get these packages. I want them so I can
rollback just in case 0.9.49 causes problems.
TIA,
Jeff
