D3D settings
I've looked at different d3d settings in the application database and have a few questions. 1. I dont have a d3d registry key in [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wine\Direct3D] 2. I created a .reg file to import and just need some explanation on the values. As posted here is my .reg file for import > [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wine\Direct3D] > >

Getting Valve Hammer to work
Let me start by clarifying something: I a talking about Hammer 4.x not 3.x, there is a huge difference, 3.x is for GoldSrc games like Half-life or COunter-Strike, or Team Fortress Classic. 4.x is for source games like HL2 or CSS. The way I see it what keeps 4.x from working properly, (crashes on opening a map) like 3.x is the fact that Goldsrc, being at least partly based on the quake engine can

VideoMemorySize registry key not being applied? [wine-1.1.2]
I am using Ubuntu Hardy, using the latest release of wine from the wine repos. I have an nVidia 7600GT with 256MB of video memory. One windows game i installed, Medal of Honor Allied Assault, has a simple config utility that sets game settings based on your hardware. This utility is detecting only 64MB of video memory. I tried setting it using wine regedit, HKCU>Software>Wine>Direct3d

Settlers II 10th anniversary graphics problem
Hi! I am using Ubuntu 10.10 64bit + Wine 1.3.17. I have an Ati mobility radeon 5470 video card with the proprietary driver. I have installed Settlers II 10th anniversary, the game starts, the intros are perfect. But the game itself looking weird. Direct3D registry entries don't work
Sometime since Wine 1.0.1, the entries I used to make games run smoother, or not as smooth such as "Multisampling" and "UseGLSL" do nothing. I can't go back to 1.0.1 because it doesn't work with most of the games I want to run, but somewhere beyond 1.0.1 the Direct3D registry entries stopped working. Any ideas how to fix?

Help with Registry Stuff
I've used the Wiki page to find and set my video memory size, but I am puzzled because it doesn't seem to be working. The setting is HKCU.Software.Wine.Direct3D.VideoMemorySize I set this to a string value of 128 which is the size in MB of my video memory. Have it set it to the wrong value type? Should the string value have been enclosed in quotes? I am on UBUNTU 10.04 running wine

Duke Nukem Forever Demo (Steam) not launching
Got someone this demo working? 50,- EUR is a lot money to me so I like to play the demo first. But it seems to be impossible? I have latest Wine from GIT and did the required winetricks steps (dinput8, xinput, removed asterisk from dinput8 user.reg line, added xinput1_3 (with native only) to winecfg, corefonts, tahoma installed; all done in a new wine bottle aka. WINEPREFIX). A +d3d logfile

GLSL registry entry
I currently have the registry entry HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wine\Direct3d\UseGLSL set to enabled, but I'm getting behavior as if it weren't set - and when I change the setting, for example to "disabled," there's no change in behavior. I know for sure the path is right, because I also have VideoMemorySize set and that works. Is there some way to directly test GLSL

Wine recognizes GeForce GTX 560 as GeForce 8300GS
Pretty much all games and steam recognize my graphics card as GeForce 83000GS. I think this causes games to run slowly and even freeze/crash when i try to set graphic details to high. Setting VideoMemorySize from registry to the correct amount doesn't help at all. Also setting VideoPciDeviceID and VideoPciVendorID makes things even worse because then it's detected as Direct3D HAL. SOLVED: World of Warcraft d3d crash and rendring problems
Hi wine people, with some help from the Nvidia forum I managed to solve a problem with World of Warcraft 4.x.x that I suspect is directX / Wine related: Enabling -d3d9 and -d3d11 would cause the below mentioned problem with Wine 1.2.2, while it would crash World of Warcraft program under Wine 1.3.15 (Ubuntu 11.04 debs), while OpenGL runs perfectly (30-60 fps with all opengl settings on ultra):

regedit does not let me rename keys
I can not rename keys using the wine regedit GUI. I had to create a .reg file in order to add the values I wanted to add, in this case Direct3D: Code: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wine\Direct3D] "VideoMemorySize"="512" I have 64 bits Ubuntu 10.10 and Wine 1.3.7. I did not find anything about this after a quick search in Bugzilla, is
