TWAIN scanners query
I see there's a TWAIN package for Wine, which is good news because I'm trying to get a Minolta Dimage ScanDual slide scanner to work, BUT I can't find any references to 'scanner', 'TWAIN', let alone 'Minolta' or 'Scan Dual' in the apps DB. Where might I find a list of TWAIN apps that are known to run under Wine and/or the status of Wine's TWAIN

Wine and twain
Hi, I haven't seen recent information on wine and twain. I am trying to test a Finereader Office (version 5) with an USB scanner. Everything seems working. But I get scanner not ready when searching for scanner. Sane, gimp or whatever are working well with my scanner. Doing WINEDEBUG=+loaddll wine finereader.exe I get: ... trace:loaddll:load_dll Loaded module L"C:\\program files\\abbyy

Wine failure logs
I'm experimenting with Wine under Kubuntu Hardy Heron, on a former Vista laptop (boy, does it run noticeably faster on Linux). The deal is that my son wants to move to Linux on his desktop, but still have access to particular games that he plays. The laptop is the testbed. Before trying to install any of the games, I tried out three applications that I find useful, Orbitron, Country Codes and

IrfanView - got installer working, but program won't run
Hi guys! I am new to Wine, and one of my all-time favourite porgrams ever, IrfanView, is the first one I'm trying to run with this emulator. I got past the installation, which needed MFC42.dll, by installing vcrun6 (MS Visual C++ 6 sp4 libraries: mfc42, msvcp60, msvcrt) using WineTricks. Now IrfanView itself still won't run. I re-installed my system after screwing it up last week, before

IrfanView-Ubuntu dialog box problems
In XP, Irfanview presents up to 90 (18 rows, 5 cols) of files in the "Open" file dialog box. That is, up to 90 files are displayed at once for a selected directory using the "open folder icon". Using WINE with Ubuntu 9.04 and Irfanview 3.98 or 4.25, the open box will only display up to 12 files (6 rows by 2 cols). This is very inconvenient for a directory with hundreds of

Passing arguments during OLE
Environment: Ubuntu 8.01, Wine 1.0.0, fresh installs. I'm trying to get Irfanview (yes I know about the alleged clone. It isn't) to work as an "open with" program for .jpg files. I have placed it in the "open with" table When I click (gnome) on a .jpg, Irfanview opens with a blank screen. I've done some experimenting and it appears that the arguments are not

samba not showing all files.
Hello, I've got a web server with samba running on it. The idea is i have a samba web share to which users can put web pages. My problem is none of the files are being shown, i have 5 folders and 24 files, only the five folders show up in a network neighborhood view. I've checked permissions, all the users can place content in that location, but the files are not visible. samba 2.2.6, any

Irfanview
I'm trying to get Irfanview to work with no success so far. According to the instructions I have I need to copy "mfc42.dll" to "~/.wine/drive_c/windows/system32", which I've done. I've confirmed that the file is there. I also have copied the install program to "~/.wine/drive_c/". I then try installing the program (wine iview398.exe) but get the

Irfanview
Hi, I'm new to Wine and understand very little about it. However, I did manage (somehow) to get Irfanview running in Winebottler which makes me very happy. Now that I've done that, how would I go about installing the "Plugin" file which would normally be installed within the Irfanview program in Windows? I just tried to execute the setup.exe and it started the install process

Slow access from Windows 7 to samba share on CentOS 6.6 after upgrade
Hi all, Did anybody notice a really slow access from Windows 7 (especially from the MS Office suite) when trying to open a Word-doc for example, that sits on a samba share on a computer recently upgraded to CentOS 6.6? It can take up to two-three minutes to open a 20 kB Word-doc... I tested with the latest available LibreOffice for Windows on the same Word-docs, but this one doesn't show

Ubuntu 8.10 - Irfanview - no longer able to install or use.
DOS ".EXE" programs aren't "automagically" being opened by WINE, but with the "Archive Manager. I found this by Right Clicking on the Wine EXE file. This opens the "Archive Manager" as the default application, not "Wine Windows Program Loader" as it used to. I have confirmed this with the native 8.10 version and the latest WINE from Wine HQ.
