Two different windows configurations
Hi, i have compiled winex from source, and i also have windows 98 with directx 8.0 running in my computer. I would like wine not to use my real windows 98 configuration, but a new one, with its own libraries, this is because i know i should not try to emulate real Directx. I think wine can create a fake windows directory which contains all the libraries, but don't know how to create it.

That's problem. AHCI is the standard for SATA, running modern SATA drives, especially SSD require the AHCI command structure. Running modern SATA drives in IDE (ATA) mode is not readily supported. -Jason -- -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- - - - Jason Pyeron PD Inc.

sorry, the darn reply to got me again ---------- Forwarded message ---------- can you remote regedit from linux? if so, you can execute on logon from the samba server a push of the keys, you can even make a queue of pushes that run only once. -jason pyeron On Tue, 28 Dec 2004, Danny Paul wrote: > The only thing I've tried with any success is to find the registry keys that > need

DirectX problems
Hi, Maybe you've talked about this many times before, but i've got a problem with DirectX. When i try to run any application that uses DirectX it just tells me that i don't have it installed on my system. The fact is that i do have it installed, and works fine in Windows ME, maybe the version is too recent? i'm using DirectX 7. My system is: Linux Redhat 6.2, Windows ME,

r-project.org SSL certificate issues
My (also not expert) understanding is that there is nothing insecure about alternative certificate chains at all. All browsers and macOS's built in SSL library (secure transport) support them properly. OpenSSL and LibreSSL were/are simply broken. This was not such a big issue so far, but now that some old long lived certificates are expiring, it is increasingly an issue. FWIW it is possible

[FORGED] src/modules/X11/devX11.c, can we remove "#if BUG" yet
OK, this is now in R-devel, but only superficially tested (b/c this is a Mac). Please check it out. -pd > On 30 Apr 2019, at 23:09 , Paul Murrell <paul at stat.auckland.ac.nz> wrote: > > Hi Peter > > Yes, that looks roughly right to me. [FORGED] src/modules/X11/devX11.c, can we remove "#if BUG" yet
I had a look at the current code, and AFAICT it has essentially the same structure as it did back then. I think it may have finally dawned upon me what the issue really is: The logic is that in Rf_addX11Device, we have if (!X11DeviceDriver(dev, display, width, height, ps, gamma, colormodel, maxcubesize, bgcolor, canvascolor,

OK, so I did the archaeology anyway.... This was the story, R-core November 29, 2001. Part of thread "X11 still segfaults". ------------>> ..... Gah. I've been too tired today. Why did that take me so long? The culprit seems to be R_ProcessEvents((void*) NULL) in newX11DeviceDriver This gets called *before* this stuff at the end of Rf_addX11Device dd =

tinc 1.1pre17 not working on Windows XP due to KERNEL32.DLL (InitOnceExecuteOnce)
Good afternoon. I've tried making use of tinc inside of a Windows XP box, mostly to test whether it is at all possible to use a JScript/VBScript file (Windows Scripting Host). However, upon executing tinc.exe (this also happens with tincd.exe), an error pops up, telling about a method that is not available in KERNEL32.DLL. Apparently, this method, InitOnceExecuteOnce, is only available from

[R-win] Bug 17159 - recursive dir.create() fails on windows shares due to permissions (MMaechler: Resending to R-windows@R-pr..)
Hi Peter, I share your experience with trying to help IT departments setting things up. The network directory of the students is mapped to a drive, but R still uses the unc path instead of the drive when attempting to create that user library. Unless I do it manually of course. The only solution I see right now is to set the HOME or R_LIBS_USER environment variable in Renviron, but that should be

use of the tcltk package crashes R 4.0.1 for Windows
John, The Windows installation instructions document has the following. So, one obvious question is whether you did select it. (I haven't installed on WIndows for ages, so I don't know whether this was changed recently or even whether the selection is on or off by default). -pd Using package tcltk =================== The package tcltk supports building graphical interfaces with Tcl/Tk.

r-project.org SSL certificate issues
You are making a very strong assumption that finding an alternative chain of trust is safe. I'd argue it's not - it means that an adversary could manipulate the chain in a way to trust it instead of the declared chain and thus subverting it. In fact switching to OpenSSL would create a serious security hole here - in particular since it installs a separate trust store which it is far more

I tested it. It fixes the bug and didn't seem to produce any errors. Thank you Professor Dalgaard! I'm so glad this has finally been addressed. I will update the bug report. [External] use of the tcltk package crashes R 4.0.1 for Windows
Ah, I see it now: The remapping of free() to Rm_free() and calloc() to Rm_calloc() happens in memory.c, but not in tcltk.c; the macro Calloc in R_ext/RS.h maps to a call to R_chk_alloc which is defined in memory.h; RS.h is included in tcltk.c, so tcltk.c winds up calling Rm_calloc() via Calloc(), but then the NON-remapped free(), and the walls come tumbling down. Urgent help to Samba 2.0.7 with Microsoft Windows XP and 98
Dear Sir : Nice to meet you. We are using the Samba v2.0.7 ported from uClinux to build the Samba = server for Network Storage. Currently, we met several strange problems as below : 1) Under Windows XP : The Windows backup function cannot work. But the BackUp function works well under Windows 2000. 2) Under Windows 98/98SE, we cannot copy a file
