Allowed code pages and encodings to write f0.txt through f1.txt?
Hi there. Slackware's installer, that I am internationalizing, makes use of ISOLINUX. I want to give instructions to users in other languages than US English, e.g. which code to type to see installation messages in their native language. So my question are: (1) Which character encodings can be used in message.txt and f1.txt through f1O.txt? (2) Is UTF-8 allowed? (3) I'm guessing that

Changes to get CD to boot on EFI System.
Hi, Ady wrote: > http://www.syslinux.org/archives/2015-October/024526.html I still have it in my mailbox: ADY4UEFI.IMG in ADY4UEFI.ZIP. The test results are the same as with Didier's partition image. Wrapped in an ISO and presented as -cdrom it reboots in cycles. Presented as -hda it boots as naked disk image and as part of a GPT enhanced ISO 9660. > the wiki page needs

Problems booting from cd
Hi, I have a cd building system that has worked for ages. I made lots of changes before I noticed that it now produces non-bootable cd's. I made changes to the files that went on the cd rather than the programs than buildings the isos (mainly mkisofs). The cd's don't fail on all machines. It seems to be a combination of motherboard and cd drive. At boot time, the cd light flashes

Dell OptiPlex GX620 can longer boot from CD with syslinux-5.X
Same CD. Any Linux distribution without the 5.X series boots on this machine. We can use 4.06 and it boots just fine. It's not the computer's hardware. Like I said, we can take the CD out of the GX620 and place it in the 9010 and it boots. Put 4.06 on the CD, and they both boot. Thomas, the "xorriso.exe" files that are available are not really "around". They are not easy

Problem with mkisofs (i guess :-))
Hello! I have a problem with a bootable cd that i'm trying to make .. The problem is that i don't know what all the mkisofs parameters do and because that weird things happen, if the filenames or directorynames contain spaces they do not open and if i'm in windows's safe mode it gives me an error message stating that the file or folder does not exist! Can anyone help with that?

(Note: I am not subscribed to this ML, so please be sure to CC me in replies.) Hello, I see a strange bug when running dovecot under btrfs with a mailbox in mdbox format. Installation media has incorrect file names
I have Nancy Drew: The Captive Curse for my daughter and I tried to install using Wine. Installation fails because some of the files have different names on the installation media from that sought by the installer. Here are two examples: Click_AfterThreeBells_02_SFX.HIS which is actually click_afterthreebells_02_s.his on the media. AxInterop.SHDocVw.dll which is actually axinteropshdocvw.dll on

supress access to the /etc/passwd
Hi, I've just install samba 2.2 with ldap support, it is working just fine. I've create some samba users using smbpasswd and they are inserted into the ldap directory. But, I was wondering if it was possible to delegate the full authentification process to ldap. That's to say completely remove any information from /etc/passwd? Thanks. -------------- next part -------------- HTML
