IP to NetBIOS resolution
Hello, Is there *any* way to reliablily determine the NetBIOS name of a computer when you only know their IP address? I know it is very easy to find the IP address from the NetBIOS name, but I can't seem to find any way of getting a NetBIOS name from an IP.. James deBoer (jdeboer@scsinternet.com)

File size limitation?
When I run backup and send the output to a file on the server, I get a file limitation of 2g. When I do the same backup to a snap server, there is no problem. Is there a size limitation for a single file? Thanks, Steven C. Henry stevench@xnet.com

Attempting to sync x-axis labels with grid lines in lattice bwplot
I have created a lattice bwplot that suffers from axis label overplotting. The box plot contains grid lines, and I thought that only plotting the labels for corresponding vertical grid lines would not only cure the overplotting but also be more aesthetically pleasing. Unfortunately hours of poring over manuals, documentations, mailing list archives, and other R-related text hasn't helped.

Early legalization pass ? Doing early legalization in an existing pass ?
Hi all, Some non trivial legalization of operations which aren't supported by the backend would benefit from having the optimizer pass on them. I noticed some example trying to optimize various pieces of code over the past weeks. One offender is the cttz/ctlz intrinsic when defined on 0. On X86, BSR and NSF are undefined on 0, and only recent CPU have the LZCNT and TZCNT instructions that

[LLVMdev] Port succesful
I made the windows port, the first example compiled and executed correctly. I am sending a patch so you can test it if i didn't break linux compatibility. Otherwise, I will look into deja-gnu testing, perhaps can compile it on windows. I will also add other beckend in the future (Sparc, PowerPC). I hope windows using Visual C++ will be soon officially supported :) About the problem I had

Early legalization pass ? Doing early legalization in an existing pass ?
I may be wrong here, but legalizing early seems like something that is more likely to prevent optimizations than it is to encourage them. But I guess I don't follow why things like TTI, TII and TLI queries don't suffice for this. CodeGenPrepare will break this sequence up. I would imagine that if the target returns false for isCheapToSpeculateCtlz() and false for canInsertSelect(), the

sshd doesn't set SSH_AUTH_RHOSTS as supported authentication
Okay...I've got it narrowed down, just don't know why this is happening... In sshd.c, auth_mask is set to "supported authentication methods": /* Declare supported authentication types. */ auth_mask = 0; if (options.rhosts_authentication) auth_mask |= 1 << SSH_AUTH_RHOSTS; if (options.rhosts_rsa_authentication)

problem with regapi on Solaris 8 x86
Hello, I have been tinkering with Wine on Solaris 8 x86. I downloaded the source (20010305) and built wine. The installation went very well until the last part where I asked to build a registry using regapi. Here is the error I get when trying to run regapi. bash-2.03# ./regapi setValue < /usr/local/software/wine-20010305/winedefault.reg Could not stat /mnt/fd0 (No such file or

Entropia distributed computing client won't install
Hi, Because our institute is planning a distributed-computing project in cooperation with the Entropia software, and I do not like the idea of excluding all Linux users from the project, I tried to get the Entropia software running using a recent version of wine (Wine release 20010305), which I compiled & installed on a SuSE Linux 6.4 machine (glibc 2.1.3, kernel 2.2.14) (the entropia

Examples of long AND WELL-WRITTEN Ruby scripts
I''m looking for examples of Ruby scripts that are long AND well-written. I have a Ruby script for scraping information on stock ETFs and mutual funds and storing the data in a Postgres database at https://github.com/jhsu802701/bsf-scrape/blob/master/scrape.rb .
