New TransGaming Patch
This worked with: Wine CVS from Jan 29th + Transgaming patch XFree 4.0.2 NVidia drivers 0.9.6 Had to turn off DGA, and force wine to manage created windows, otherwise I get a glXMakeCurrent error when it tries to set the current GLX rendering context. The frame rate isn't quite windows, but the demo is certainly playable. Good luck, Dan "Chris Howells"

Hooray! (but help)
I'm completely new to WINE, but I've managed to get it working... of sorts. Playing Freecell under Linux is all very well but trying to run Outlook Express caused no end of errors. Any tips? By the way, even running Freecell caused a load of font type errors... -- ------------------------------------------------- Richard Spandit Firmly on the Linux wagon SuSE 6.3, KDE 2.0

Trying to compile Wine from binaries I get the following error, anyone knows what's wrong and can offer some help on how to get it to work? Samba and java
Hi, I have sent this message before does any one have any ideas? We really need to be able to run Java class files from the root of a samba share. I think that the problem may have to do with Samba file name mangeling and that this may be preventing the java virtual machine from finding the calls file through the classpath environment variable. Here is the original message. Can any one help? We

Newbie Problem: need Windows Printer Driver?
Hi friends I just started using wine on my Linux-machine. Mostly because I want to switch finally from Windows to Linux on my computer at work. There is just one single application I want to "take with me" and that is "GraphPad Prism" (http://www.graphpad.com/prism/Prism.htm). So I installed wine0.9.20 on my Mandriva2007. Then I used wine to install Prism in its most recent

Moving a printserver
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hello, I like to move a Samba Printserver to a different machine. I would like to copy the printerdriver from the old to the new machine and not reinstall all drivers/printers again. When I only copy the files from /var/lib/samba/drivers to the new machine, there are no drivers listed on the new machine. How do I get the drivers listed on the new

ADD Printerdriver to server through APW
Hi I recently tried to install the printerdriver to the samba server (samba 3.0alpha30 on debian) from a windows 2000 client. The APW asked me for a Win2k-server cd for the winnt drivers, although i had them on a disc...which I don't have 2 Questions: 1) does anybody know why the APW will not accept my winnt driver from the driver disc when i comes to install the winnt driver 2) is it

Hello, I'm trying to use rpcclient 'setdriver' as an unprivileged user; a special lpadmin user with very limited rights has been created, and ownership of the location of driver files (/home/PrintDrivers) given to him. when executing the smbclient and rpc commands like cupsaddsmb does, nearly everything works fine, except the last command: when i issue an rpcclient localhost -U

Needed files from WIN dist. [BEFORE: Windows Installation under WINE]
I think everyone misunderstood me. I'm not trying to set up windows to start using windows in Linux like with VMWare. Why would anyone want to do that. My problem is the fact that I need some files from MS-Windows to be able to run some programs in WINE. Like I need regedit.exe and other programs in the windows distibution. I see that most people copy the c:\windows\ directory from a

3.5.1 64 bit windows printing is working a bit
Hi, although I don't expect any answers (like most of the times) , here is my experience so far: I run a samba printserver for +3.000 hosts and 600 printers with a correct setup successfully. So be sure, everything is plugged in, I tried to turn it off and on again, I RTFM'ed and so on. Here is my most successfull attempt to get the printservice going on 3.5.1 and windows 7 46 bit

/etc/passwd.rpmnew changes "x" to "*"
What would be the effect of changing the password field in "/etc/passwd" from "x" to "*"? I noticed I have an "/etc/passwd.rpmnew" file which changes the password of many service accounts from "x" to "*". I am wondering if I should merge those changes into my "/etc/passwd" file. -- Matt Seitz Manager, File System
