TaxAct 2006 Problem
TaxAct 2006 installed perfectly, and at the end of the install I was given the option to start the program. I said yes, and the program ran just fine. However, when I tried to run the program separately, I got this error: root@PC1:~/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/2nd Story Software/TaxACT 2006# ./TaxAct06.exe run-detectors: unable to find an interpreter for ./TaxAct06.exe Any idea how I can help

Minor Problem with latest TaxAct
Greetings All, I have a minor difficulty with the latest Taxact (2008). The program installs and appears to run fine. However, after every mouse click I get a pop-up window with no information that I must clear to continue. Does anyone know what this is and how to disable it? I am running SUSE 11 64bit with KDE 3.5 Thanx in advance Rich

Tax Preparation with WINE
As approximately 130 million other US citizens, I am dutifully preparing for the April deadline for filing my income tax returns. Reviewing the WINE AppDB for installable tax software to help out in the process, it appeared that 2nd Story Software's TAX ACT was most likely to work with the WINE version (1.1.17) installed on my Mandriva-equipped HP laptop. As it turned out, TAX ACT was able

reading in data with variable length
I have very large csv files (up to 1GB each of ASCII text). I'd like to be able to read them directly in to R. The problem I am having is with the variable length of the data in each record. Here's a (simplified) example: $ cat foo.csv Name,Start Month,Data Foo,10,-0.5615,2.3065,0.1589,-0.3649,1.5955

Segfault at debug
I am (once again) trying to find just *why* TaxAct will not run under Wine. So this time I wanted to follow some instructions I got back in Dec 2003 on debugging a program ("TaxAct, wine 20031212" in the archives). Of course, I found they were for the older method of editing the config file and then adding a "wine --debugmsg +relay,+file -- ..." command line, wnich I

Installation issue?
Greetings from a noob. I am having a little difficulty trying out Wine-20050111 on a fully updated athlon fedora core 2 system and hope other wine users can help. Review of the wine-users.pdf file included in the wine rpm and scanning some of the wine-users mailing list archives have not pointed to any solutions. I am trying to install Turbotax from a Turbtax distribution CD. (The only
