Recompiling source rpms for i386, i686 and x86_64 on the same box?
At the risk of sounding like an newbie, is is possible to build the RPMS for all architectures on the same box at the same time? I would really like to automate this, so that I can keep track of the RPMS's and build them into my own future repo. (That's another project, I'm sure I'll come to the list for that one!) -- The Solo System Admin - Follow me - I follow you

Puppet syntax check for Komodo Edit
Hi folks, Recently I''ve been using a MacBook Pro (Lion) as a workstation, I''m feeling good even if still missing some tool (coming from Ubuntu environment). I''d like to have a cross platform IDE with basic Puppet syntax highlight, so far the one that seems to better fit my needs is Komodo Edit v7, that is mentioned here:

Static Puppet Binary
Good Evening I just wanted to ask a question here, is it possible to build a static binary that I could sep to a client machine, and have it do it''s first run to connect to a puppet master? My plan is to use a static binary as a sort of installer for particular systems, as I don''t really want to have to install puppet client on 70 systems by hand! These are all production

CentOS ToDo Item - For the Wiki - Hosting Control Panels - Help?
Dear List, I've taken a look at the TODO page http://wiki.centos.org/ToDo and I've picked something at random to ask a question about and see if we can get it done! "Add page for Hosting control panels - we seem to get a lot of people asking about them" I spotted this quote - What exactly does this mean? Does it mean that people want instructions on how to install some sort of

help matching observations for social network data
Greetings R folks, I am stuck on a problem that I suspect can be solved somewhat easily. I have social network data stored in dyads as below, where the numbers representing ego and alter are identifiers, so that number 1 as an ego is the same person as number 1 as an alter etc. ego alter 1 1 2 2 1 3 3 2 1 4 2 4 5 3 1 6 3 2 7 3

Social Network Analysis and R
I'm interested in computing densities of a number of small ego-centred or local networks. I've installed both the R program and the sna package. My next task is importing the data into R. Our data was entered into Spss in an edgelist format in which each case specifies the link between an alter and an ego. For example: 10101 10102 1 10101 10103 3 10102 10104 2 10201 10203

how to update my own function
Hello all, I wrote a function with many arguments. Then I need to call it many times with changes on some arguments only. Is there any way to write a function or have a method to "update" it, like the relationship between lm() and update()? Many thanks, Edwin Sun ------------ This is the sample code. > test <- function(y, z) { + x <- y +1 + w <- z * 2 + result

A simpler move-files patch
In an effort to get my long-desired move-files functionality into rsync, I have created a version of my patch that runs as an extra pass at the end of the processing. This results in a simpler set of changes to rsync. I still think it would be nice to have incremental deletions during large transfers (as my first patch provides), but acceptance of this patch would relegate such quibbling to a

Puppet Forge: Are my expectations misaligned?
Good Afternoon All, I''m just pondering - I think that my expectations of the forge are not 100% aligned, or I''m still rubbish with puppet! I imagine the forge to be used in the following scenario/way I''m in a situation where I need to provision package X in a particular way. I fire up my terminal: $ puppet module search packageX Searching https://forge.puppetlabs.com

CentOS 7
Greetings all, just wondering if anyone knows if / when there will be training materials for RHEL 7 (CEntOS7) available? The last book I was able to purchase was the study guide for the RHSCA / RHCE exam, (by Michal Jang!) Does anyone know if / when the next versions will be out? I'd like to go through it all with the latest and not "last years model" under my belt! Thanks!
