Shutdown Problem
Hi
I'm hoping someone can help.
I'm running fc5 with nut 2.0.3. I just recently acquired 2 Gamatronic
SmartCompact ups for my Linux boxes. As you can see from the info below,
everything looks ok. When I unplug the ups from the wall, after a while, the
computer shutdowns very rudely. That it is just turns off. No scrolling down
of processes shutting down It does not seem shutdown

I know this sounds incredibly pedantic, but if you run nmap

Apologies for resurrecting an old thread and likely poor formatting - I wasn't subscribed to the list at the time and have copied it out of the archives (http://lists.alioth.debian.org/pipermail/nut-upsuser/2010-July/006104.html).
I've been unable to locate any further progress on this UPS (Liebert 10af:0001) - a thread from 2009

Need to test serial port connection
I recently bought a new UPS, and I''m attempting to use nut to monitor it.
Following setup instructions everything seemed to go well until it came to
testing the connection, which failed.
There is just one serial connector on the computer, so I set it to
monitor /dev/ttyS0. Either that is wrong, or communication is failing.
I''ve been told to try minicom to monitor it,

Fwd: Emerson Liebert GXT4
Hello,
we have a Emerson Liebert GXT4, that we like to connect to our servers
to shut them down if there is a power failure (which happens quite often
in our area).
I couldn't get the GXT4 working with usbhid-ups driver. So I need some
advise to continue to get this device working. The GXT3 seems to be
working ok with NUT (http://networkupstools.org/ddl/Liebert/GXT3.html).

Liebert ESP-II protocol
I see there has been some Liebert work here recently. I have a Liebert
UPS that has no USB, just RS-232. I reverse engineered the ESP-II
protocol, at least as far as normal MultiLink monitoring goes, which was
pretty simple. The protocol provides a table of parameter types and
index ranges. So, I can read and (if I dare) write the parameter tables.
We might be able to share info between

Liebert UPS, serial cable questions
Hi,
I have a Liebert GXT2-1000RT230 UPS that is connected to my server
using a serial cable.
I have no idea to what port exactly it is connected so my first
question is: how do I find out what /dev/tty** should I use?
Do I need to install a device driver for it? Where do I find it?
What should I use and how do I do so the server shuts down if the
battery level is low?

upsd/upsc, LISTEN and hostname resolution in master/slave
Hi,
I've been setting up a few Eatons 1500 USB in master/slave mode and run
into what I'm thinking is a hostname resolution problem.
Basically, to avoid hardcoding ips, I'd love to be able to add a LISTEN on
the lan's ip which has hostname, let's say, server1.local .
If I set up upsd.conf such as LISTEN server1.local 3493 what I end up with
is upsd listening on 127.0.0.1 .

Problems getting reading from UPS with nut 2.0.2 Debian Sid
I know that the server starts running and accepts incoming connections, it can
verify the username and password but refutes that the UPS lives at localhost,
what am I doing wrong ?
I have read and reread both the official documentation and various guides
around the net I am unsure where to go now.
If the UPS itself is at fault (not

I have a Dell PE 2850 connected via 940-0024C cable to serial port on the UPS mentioned above.
I've used apt-get to install nut-2.0.2-3 and attempted to configure based on the documentation.
