weird XFS problem
Hello all,
I have a CentOS 5.7 machine hosting a 16 TB XFS partition used to house
backups. The backups are run via rsync/rsnapshot and are large in terms of
the number of files: over 10 million each.
Now the machine is not particularly powerful: it is 64-bit machine, dual
core CPU, 3 GB RAM. So perhaps this is a factor in why I am having the
following problem: once in awhile that XFS partition

One logical drive (RAID 1+0) on the RAID Controller is already build.
CentOS Installation can't find the logical Drive, but it shows me the

DHCP Messages
Hi, Im getting this messages in the /var/log/messages about my dhcp
server. I assume there is nothing to worry about, but just in case I
have to ask. Are these messages fine? Do I need to specify the interface
on which the dhcp server should listen to?

Is there a way to import the certificate, which was generated with
"mkcert_dovecot.sh", permanently to the outlook 2003 clients?

The --relative option on remote machine to source machine ???
Hi,
I read below lines in rsync v3.0.5 for --relative option.
if you used this command:
rsync -av /foo/bar/baz.c remote:/tmp/
... this would create a file named baz.c in /tmp/ on the remote machine. If
instead you used
rsync -avR /foo/bar/baz.c remote:/tmp/
then a file named /tmp/foo/bar/baz.c would be created on the remote machine,
preserving its full path
It is also possible to limit the

for example
dd# ls -lo init

dd#
file has flag schg
when i just use rsync it copy that file and loses that flag

Hi all,
my dovecot IMAP Server (1.0.7-7.el5) is now up and running ;-)

broken network-support for netBSD-domUs?
Hello.
I recently tried installing NetBSD-5 on xen-4.0.1-rc5, which resulted in no network (xennet0 can''t get IPs per dhclient and has no connectivity if set by hand).
Tried it with netBSD-5.1-RC3-1 i386 PAE & amd64, netBSD-5.0 and even 4, all with the same result.
On a older xen version (3.3.1) networking works fine, so I assume it''s a xen bug, and not a netBSD-kernel

Hi all
Reference: http://support.zresearch.com/community/documentation/index.php/Gluster_3.1:_Installing_GlusterFS_on_OpenSolaris
I have found this guide to be too brief/terse, and have endeavoured to improve it via more of a recipie/howto approach - and possibly misunderstood the intent of the brief directions in the process.
Please advise if there are any errors?

uid/gid settings in rsyncd.conf not respected?
Hi All,
I must not understand the uid/gid line in rsyncd.conf. If someone
could briefly point out where I've gone wrong, I'd appreciate it.
I've created a special user to backup a server which has some users
who don't want all their files backed up, so I'm trying to address
their concerns by using the uid= and gid= lines in rsyncd.conf to
have the rsyncd run with

dom0 networking disabled
Hi folks, I''ve been trying to work out this situation for a few days now
without much success and dug all over the archives for similar issues,
none of which seem to relate exactly.
I installed Debian Etch and the Xen (3.03) kernels / binaries on a Dell
server. It works fantastic with all the default configurations with one
strange flaw - as soon as the /etc/xen/scripts/network-bridge

Connection is up - but no packets are coming back...
All,
I've set up tinc yesterday (Win32 -> Linux), the connection comes up but
I can't reach a host behind the tinc "Server".
Maybe I did something completely wrong, so let me first describe my
network....
The "Server" has multiple Interfaces, be we just care for two of them
here. One NIC "eth2" ist to the LAN (192.168.100.x/24) and the oher one
