CentOS 5 (beta): tomcat/keystore issue
I (somewhat sadly, imo) need to run Tomcat/SSL on a public-facing
machine at work. I was really, really hoping I could use the
GCJ-compiled version of Tomcat supplied in the base repository.
I can't get Tomcat to read a Java keystore created with the keytool
utility provided (in java-1.4.2-gcj-compat-1.4.2.0-40jpp.110).
The Sun and GNU keytools produce different keystores. I'll use

Certificate errors
Hi all,
I launched a Puppet service a few month ago and it did function pretty well
for some time.
Last week, I tried to clean old entries but I think I deleted too much
information as I can no more synchronize my clients.
I get a certificate error :
*[root@REBITPUPPET01 ~]# puppet agent --test
Warning: Unable to fetch my node definition, but the agent run will
continue:

Puppet First Run after Install failing in module pe_mcollective
I am installing puppet enterprise manager (master) on a RHEL box.
Though the install itself succeeds without any issues, the first run
of puppet when it tries to deploy the pe_mcollective module fails with
the following error.
Message:

jboss application server rpm
Hi All,
I've been trying to locate a jboss application server rpm for CentOS 5,
but I haven't found any. I thought it would be included with CentOS.
Searching the yum repos hasn't turned anything up. Maybe my yum search
was sub-par.
Where should I look? Do any rpms exist?
Regards,
Ranbir

Running test Rails app under JRuby and JBoss - experiences
Based on this article http://blog.saush.com/?p=208 I have created a
simple speed test application to see how JRuby behaves under JAVA
server. I created one controller with simple method that provides actual
time for view. View is RHTML with simple code for publishing the time
provided by controller.
Then a packed the application into WAR(described in article) and
published under JBoss 4.0.5 (on

arrays, loops, etc
Inspired by the recent thread titled "Array input of dirs, ensuring
their existence" I thought I''d write up the problem I''m running into. I
was chatting on irc about it, I don''t think puppet has a clean solution.
Like the other poster, I''m defining an object that takes an array. In
my case, I''m defining gpg keystore, which can contain a

Citrix receiver and certificates on CentOS 7
Hi,
I'm currently migrating a client's workstation from OpenSUSE Leap 15.0
to my personal blend of CentOS 7 and KDE.
The client has some extra software installed on his machine, and one of
these applications is causing me some troubles: Citrix Receiver.
Here's my old blog article on installing Citrix Receiver on OpenSUSE :

jinfo, jboss and ExtendedDTraceProbes
Hi,
I would like to use dtrace to observe some behaviour in my J2EE app
running in JBoss. I start JBoss normally in a 1.6 VM. When I try to
enable set the ExtendedDTraceProbes flag using jinfo, I get a thread
dump in the JBoss console and the message: "Unable to open door: target
process not responding or HotSpot VM not loaded" in the jinfo console.
I have tried this with both

Rails on Tomcat or JBoss?
Hi all,
The Rails book talks about running Rails under Apache, but is there a
(relatively) easy way to deploy it to either Tomcat or JBoss? Is the CGI
servlet the only option?
Thanks,
Ken

Rails Vs JBoss Seam
I have been frustrated with J2EE technology just like any other developer who has worked in that
technology for a long time. This made me learn about Rails and I was excited about RoR. Today I
came across JBoss Seam framework and I am not able to contain my excitement.
My passion for JEE development is back. It seems like it is better than RoR. I would like to hear
differnt opinions about this

[RFC] Lanai backend
The ISA & encoding is documented in the comments and diagrams of
lib/Target/Lanai/LanaiInstrFormats.td. If that makes sense I'll add a link
to this tablegen in docs/CompilerWriterInfo.rst.
Thanks,
Jacques

OT: programming language for morons (newbie friendly language in Open Source world)
Hi folks
I have more than 12 years experience with UNIX system administration,
but I am too stupid for programming. My only programming experience is
shell scripting. I tried to learn Java, but don't understand it
because it is too complicated for my limited brainpower.
What programming language should I learn?
A friend said that C-Sharp (Mono) is very simple. Is this true?

mandatory client certificates and crl check in ssl-proxy-openssl.c
hello,
I made a modification to ssl-proxy-openssl.c (patch attached) zo that it
a) disconnects when no client certificate is presented
b) checks the client certificate against the crl for our root cert. (so
you can't use a revoked client cert.)
c) returns the CommonName from the client cert. in
ssl_proxy_get_peer_name (this way it's easier to use dovecot as

best practises for avoiding to write passwords in shell scripts (example sqlplus from Oracle)
Hi folks
I have here a CentOS box where i need to setup cronjob (with session
to remote Oracle instance). On the remote DB i have no access, expect
limited user.
How to avoid putting passwords in shell scripts?
The solution doesn't need to be perfect, only better than plain text
passwords in scripts.
Mostly remote host only support password authentication (no
certificates and so on).

PuppetDB: SSL problems
Hi all,
I''m setting up puppetdb to for storing facts et cetera. I installed
puppetdb-1.3.0-1.el6.noarch.rpm on my puppetdb.local host (which is
puppetized). This seems to work, service starts :).
When I edit the settings on my puppetmaster (puppet.local), something goes
wrong. I am following the guide [1]. I put the settings (storeconfigs =
true, storeconfigs_backend=puppetdb) on my

I have the command "find . | xargs grep 'mailx'", to search all files

Every file which contains "mailx", but not the string
