ipw3945 wireless not working
This is a new Centos 5.1 install on a HP nc2400 (that use to run XP).
Completely clean install; blew away the XP partitions...
After applying all the updates, and configuring for the rpmforge repo, I
used yumex to install dkms and the dkms-ipw3945, ipw3945-firmware, and
ipw3945d rpms.
lsmod|grep ipw shows:
ipw3945 180391 1

It is hard to remember what I installed fuse for, I think for webdav.
My system has a ipw3945 pci card, wireless is working. Here are the

yum update installed xen and pae kernels
Why???
I was/am running kernel 2.6.18-128.1.6.el5
I did a yum update and watched 2.6.18-128.1.6.el5xen and

Hello Friends,
This is my first post on CentOS mailing list.
I am using CentOS since last 3 years and using Linux since 2003.
I am Java Based ERP(http://ofbiz.apache.org/) developer and I truly
appreciate the stability of CentOS as the Desktop machine for the
developers.
In the early 2003 I was using CentOS 4 then I moved to CentOS 5 stable
release then before 1.5 month I installed CentOS 5.2

yum Transaction Check Error: re: nvidia conflicts
Googling this (specifically the nvidia-bug-report line below) doesn't
find anything.
This is a server (console is text only, no GUI), so we may not need
x11 nor nvidia, I dunno for sure.
Thanks in advance for your thoughts.
kind regards/ldv

Wherefore is FUSE?
Tonight, I tried to roll out fuse on my CentOS 4 production system. (in order
to use GlusterFS)
I have two identical servers, and one took, the other didn't.
How simple could this be?
# yum install yum-plugin-priorities
# yum install rpmforge-release
# yum install fuse dkms-fuse
both of these seem to work. Yet I run
[root at kepler drivers]# modprobe fuse

Introduction
Hi,
I'm a 40-year old sysadmin living in Montpezat, a small village in the
sunny south of France. I'm a Linux user since 2001, when I made my first
steps on a 486 with a Slackware 7.1 CD. I've tried maybe two dozen
distributions, but I've stayed mostly with Slackware and Debian.
Since last summer, I work as a sysadmin for our "Communaut? de

Live CD Planning systems
My company supplies me with a very nice HP nc2400. Much faster, more
memory, etc than my old HP nc4010.
Problem is the drive is not swappable, and they encrypt the drive (the
OS is XP).
The nc2400 has a DVD/CDRW and 2 USB 2.0 ports so I was thinking.....
Make a Live DVD with everything I need but map
/etc /root /home and /var/log (and what else?) to a USB flash drive

Can't get ipw2200 to work in CentOS 5 on Dell laptop
I've installed ipw2200-firmware-3.0-3.nodist.rf from RPMForge using yum OK.
I've loaded the ipw modules with /sbin/modprobe ipw2200 and then
/sbin/lsmod | grep ipw which gives:
ipw2200 136873 0
ieee80211 33417 1 ipw2200
However, when I run system-config-network I don't see Intel Coporation
PRO/Wireless 2200BG (eth1) in the list of adapters.

Long time waiting on boot
I just installed Centos 5.1 with XEN on my HP nc2400 duo core and there
are two problems out the starting gate:
Oh, I am booting off a 40Gb 2.5" drive on a USB adapter. The internal
hard drive is encrypted and not usable right now (until I get XEN
figured out). But I don't think it has a bearing...
The system hangs for some reason at various points.
