No module named snack
Hi everyone--I'm back on the list after some time not managing any Centos machines. It's good to be back. I'm trying to switch a server from sendmail to postfix. It's Centos 4.6. I installed postfix and system-switch-mail. When I run system-switch-mail, I get Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/sbin/system-switch-mail", line 89, in <module> main()

Upgrade to 2.6.1 appears to break puppetmaster
Hello. While trying to get to the bottom of a puppetmaster+unicorn+nginx rig that''s serving empty files, it seemed to be a relatively sensible idea to upgrade the puppetmaster to 2.6.1 This broke in a manner that seems to be the multiple-& bug. Running the puppetmaster standalone gives the following: [ ... ] info: mount[files]: allowing *.mysparedomain.com access info:

Can't get ipw2200 to work in CentOS 5 on Dell laptop
I've installed ipw2200-firmware-3.0-3.nodist.rf from RPMForge using yum OK. I've loaded the ipw modules with /sbin/modprobe ipw2200 and then /sbin/lsmod | grep ipw which gives: ipw2200 136873 0 ieee80211 33417 1 ipw2200 However, when I run system-config-network I don't see Intel Coporation PRO/Wireless 2200BG (eth1) in the list of adapters. Also, when I

installed centos 4.4 and want to stay with it
Hello, I installed CentOS 4.4 (for the first time) around a month ago (minimal install) and I just typed "yum update". I was surprised to see a big list of updates and feared an upgrade to centos 4.5 or 5.0 so I stopped the process with CTRL+C. What could I do to check everything is ok and stay with CentOS release 4.4 ? Thanks in advance, -- Mikael Kermorgant PS : here's a

Packages installation in CentOs
Hi, I have a customized CentOS 5.5 kernel. I want it to upgrade it to CentOS 7. The approach I have decided was to take the CentOS 7 and then install the customized packages that are there in the CentOS 5.5. While trying to install the customized packages, I could install most of the packages, but I couldn't install the below in the latest CentOS 7. 1. rhpl 2. mod_perl 3.

system-display-config doesn't run right
This might be a gnome problem, but.... I've noticed that, on occasion (frequently), when I try to look at or modify my display configuration, the Applications->System Settings->Display doesn't come up. It asks for the root password, which I give it, and then nothing. I ran system-config-display form the command line, but it dies thus: [root at mhullrichter mhr]#

centos 3.3 and updates for 3.1
Hi Everyone, Centos 3.3 is available for general use - you can find it at: http://mirror.caosity.org/centos-3/3.3/ This should be a complete rebuild of all the nice things Red Hat has included in the srpms of their Enterprise Linux 3 update 3. This is a rebuild of all the changed packages from update 3 overlaid onto 3.1. It includes a rebuilt anaconda and new boot kernels for the installer.

Hello, I'd like to announce a release of a CentOS 5 DVD image, with i386 and x86_64 installations. This is an independent work, so please don't bother CentOS lists with bugs related to the installer only. Summary of changes: * i686 and x86_64 install from a single dvd (automatic detection on boot) * updates as of 2007-04-26 * no kdelibs-api-docs, openoffice.org, tetex-doc and most

I am trying to a install Centos 5.1 32-bit Xen HVM DomU onto a Centos 5.1 64bit DomU with the default xen installed and the kickstart hangs at random points during the install process. Sometimes retrieving the image, sometimes formatting the filesystem, sometimes installing the packages, etc. I tried upgrading to xen 3.2 and encounter the same problem before rebuilding back to stock Centos 5.1
