Attempting custom CentOS4 network install
Hi
I am installing CentOS4 over ether network using http and kickstart. I boot from
the first CentOS CD and at "boot:" prompt I input
"ks=http://localserver/install/custom.cfg". Except for minor glitches like
"Kernel-Development group not found" warning, the process is smooth and is
almost completely automated.
Now, I want to add additional RPMS to the CentOS/RPMS

Custom CentOS5 DVD
Hello,
Does anyone have an up-to-date page describing, step by step, how to make a
customized CentOS5 DVD?
I noticed that CentOS5 already comes with ~240MB of updates. So for starters,
I'd like to create a new DVD with all the current updates. (And I have other
custom scripts I need to install on top of that).
I've googled around and tried various suggestions on the net:

Kickstart-based Install, editing comps.xml, hdlist/hdlist2
Hello, all -
I've been throwing the question around on the kickstart-list for the
last few days here, and can't quite get ahold of things. Please, allow
me to explain.
I am in the process of making a custom CentOS/RHEL kickstart install.
It works well right now; however, it's a hackjob, and I am not
comfortable with it as of yet.
For the past few days, I've even gone as far as

Release Note translation for CentOS 5.3
Hi guys,
are you all still with us on CentOS? Good ...
As you may already have seen Red Hat has released version 5.3 - and
we're busy rebuilding it.
As always we would like to have the Release Notes translated to as many
languages as possible. So if you do not see your language on
<http://wiki.centos.org/Manual/ReleaseNotes/CentOS5.2>
it would be more than fantastic if you would

Custom installer ISO for C7+xen
Hi,
I have made a installer script which builds a custom c7 installer iso,
which delivers xen 4.4 stack over minimal c7 installation. I have already
tested it out c7 and c6.6 but it should work with any fedora installation
also.
https://github.com/gautamMalu/centos-xen
It uses virt7-xen-44-testing repo (http://goo.gl/b2w53S) so you will need
access to internet during installation.
It uses custom

Xen 3.0.4 + CentOS5.2 "Could not mount root filesystem."
I''m trying to install Xen 3.0.4
But It couldn''t mount root filesystem.
I''m using the board, loads AMD SB750 chipset.
I''m guessing the reason that is the lack of sata driver in 2.6.16.33-xen.
So, when I copy libata and ata_piix driver from other driver from compatible
kernel source, could it be running well?
And, could you advice about copying drivers?

This is the step:

INSTALLATION EXTENSIONS
- yum install mercurial

RHEL/CentOS5.2 and rsyslogd
Hi there,
I am slightly confused by the RHEL release notes and an earlier thread
here about rsyslogd, so I hope someone can clear this up for me;
I see that rsyslog is included in RHEL as of 5.2 (and so will be
available in CentOS when 5.2 is ready) however there is no indication of
whether it has been made the default syslogger or not - is it an
optional package or installed by default on a

I tried to compile the last zaptel drivers on the new kernel and the
same problem accurs.

A problem about upgrade centos5.2
hi,
i made a mistake that i used centos5.4 i686 to upgrade the centos 5.2 x86_64,which runs on a server whose cpu is Xeon.The server seems to need CentOS X86_64 version. Should i use the?CentOS 5.4 X86_64 disk to upgrade the CentOS 5.4 i 686?
Ps.I urgently need to upgrade it because the glibc x86_64 conflicts with the i686 one....It drives me crazy and i am hitting my head against the wall...

r8169-driver CentOS5.2
Hi all,
Another FYI-mail (and just to verify that I'm not going insane here);
I recently purchased an ASUS M3A78-EMH HDMI -board with a tri-core
Phenom. This is a small uATX-board with all the garnish integrated
motherboards are supposed to come with, and fairly well supported in
CentOS 5 and other modern distros. When I installed it (~2 months ago)
the NIC was not supported;
