Torrent sharing question
Hi Folks. Just a quick question. I have been sharing CenOS 5.0 and 5.1 since I down loaded them. Now we are on to 5.2 is it still worth sharing them or can I archive them to DVD and save some hard drive space? Tyan K8SE (S2892) / nForce Pro Experiences
Has anyone installed Linux (CentOS or other) on a Tyan K8SE (S2892) motherboard? I'd really like to hear your experiences -- with this board or Nvidia's nForce Pro chipset in general. I'm looking to build a new server using this board but would like to find some other experiences first. I've googled myself blue but haven't found any reviews or postings regarding this

Release 4.4 and MPC51 ethernet controller
When using 4.4 to install on gigabyte GA-M51GM-S2 motherboard basically an Nforce 410/430 chipset then network is not initially detect to perform a network install. It let me attempt to manually select a driver but I do not see the driver in the list. After installing the network works and the forcedeth driver is loaded. Xen on AM2 nForce 590 (Asus M2N32-SLI Deluxe)
While I wait for the Xen 3.0 Test CD to download, has anyone has luck using an Asus M2N32-SLI Deluxe motherboard (NVIDIA nForce 590 SLI MCP chipset)? The CPU is an AMD Athlon64 X2 3800+ AM2 w/ 2GB DDR2 533. The motherboard mostly works under Gentoo using kernel 2.6.18 with the "noapic" kernel boot option in my grub.conf file. The only major issue with the Gentoo kernel

Looking for motherboard/chipset experience, again
What about the Asus M2N-SLI Deluxe motherboard? It has 7 SATA ports, supports ECC memory, socket AM2, generally looks very attractive for my home storage server. Except that it, and the nvidia nForce 570-SLI it''s built on, don''t seem to be on the HCL. I''m hoping that''s just "yet", not reported yet. Anybody run Solaris on it? Or at least on any

Rendering issues with KDE (GeForce 7150M/nForce 630M)
In addition to bug 70972 (Modesetting failure at 1280x800), there may be another bug affecting the NVIDIA GeForce 7150M/nForce 630M. I think that this is a separate issue from the above. When using KDE or Ubuntu Unity with nouveau on this GPU, there were artifacts and missing UI elements. I think that this is probably more likely to be a rendering issue rather than a display issue. I am not sure

ASUS M2V mobo issues
We have 4 systems supported by ASUS M2V mobos with AMD2 cpus on board. No we haven't gotten CentOS of any flavor to work yet. Yes, we did load Fedora Core 6 and it worked, with respect to the SATA driver only. There is a RAID, Audio and LAN driver for Linux that comes on the M2V mobo CD. The audio driver installs and works fine on FC6. I've read many of the messages with respect to

nForce 630i Chipset, unable to get integrated nic working
Hello everyone, I've also posted this onto the Network support forums but figured I'd shoot it to the mailing list as well. I recently purchased a ECS GF7100PVT-M motherboard and now I'm wishing I'd investigated driver support a little better before I did! I was able to get Centos 5.1 XEN Kernel installed but have been having a helluva time getting the on board NIC going. The MB

PXE -> tftp -> WinPE vs NForce 4
Hi The setup, as in the subject, is supposed to boot a Winpe to install xp to a clean PC. I use the Ramdisk method (ie PXELinux pases the setup on to the M$ pxe loader and and boots WinPE) It works perfectly with evry other chipset, but Nvidias NForce 4. (tested 15 different) With NF4 it loads up well but the M$ PnP routine detects the Network management bus wrong (nvidia specific approach to

Custom Installer Kernel
Hi All, I'm trying to remaster the boot.iso image with a custom kernel as the nForce based boards I have are not supported by the stock CentOS 5.0 installer, but they are supported by newer kernels. I need this so I can do kickstarted network installs. Is there a howto available for how to go about this? My google prowess must not be as good as I thought as I've not been able to find

Centos for entry level server : Motherboard?
I've been burned by Sata not working on an Asus motherboard (nVidia / nForce) and need to select something that will work for a fairly light duty web/mail/sql server. How do I go about finding out if a specific motherboard will work with sata software raid and Centos 4.4 (or 5.x when it's settled down).
