Graphics Question
Hello All, I'm having some issues controlling graphics in R. I was wondering if anyone may help me tackle this problem: Given a data frame "X" with variables "Year", "Factor" (w/ n groups), and "Freq" How do I create a single graphic with the following plots aligned in a vertical stack? 1. box plot in the fashion Freq~Year|Factor 2. box plot

How to solve: Error with Anova {car} due to "deficient rank" ?
Hello all, I am getting the following error: Error in linear.hypothesis.mlm(mod, hyp.matrix.1, SSPE = SSPE, V = V, : The error SSP matrix is apparently of deficient rank = 7 < 11 After running: mod.ok <- lm(as.matrix(dat[,-1]) ~ DC, data=dat) (av.ok <- Anova(mod.ok, idata=idata, idesign=~week)) Although if I jitter the data in "dat", the function seems to work. Structure of Anova for obtaining sig. corrected for departure from sphericity
Dear helpers, I have a 2x2 mixed design with two "groups" (between-subjects) and two presentation-types (within-subjects). The difference between groups is in the order of manipulations: group.CD having first a block of present.type.C and then a block of present.type.D, each block containing 31 trials. group.DC having first a block of present.type.D and then a block of present.type.C,

library(car): Anova and repeated measures without between subjects factors
Hi, sorry if this is explained somewhere but I didn't find anything. How can I use "Anova" from the car package to test a modell without between subject's factors? Suppose I have the following data mat.1 mat.2 mat.3 di ex 1 85 85 88 1 1 2 90 92 93 1 1 3 97 97 94 1 1 4 80 82 83 1 1 5 91 92 91 1 1 6 83 83

Type II and III sum of squares (R and SPSS)
To whom it may concern I made some analysis with R using the command Anova. However, I found some problmes with the output obtained by selecting type II o type III sum of squares. Briefly, I have to do a 2x3 mixed model anova, wherein the first factor is a between factor and the second factor is a within factor. I use the command Anova in the list below, because I want to obtain also the sum

> Pa2

I am able to get either mixed model or linear model anova and TukeyHSD, but have no luck with Repeated-Measures Assuming Sphericity or Separate Sphericity Tests. Anova and unbalanced designs
Dear R-list! My question is related to an Anova including within and between subject factors and unequal group sizes. Here is a minimal example of what I did: library(car) within1 <- c(1,2,3,4,5,6,4,5,3,2); within2 <- c(3,4,3,4,3,4,3,4,5,4) values <- data.frame(w1 = within1, w2 = within2) values <- as.matrix(values) between <- factor(c(rep(1,4), rep(2,6))) betweenanova <-

car::Anova - Can it be used for ANCOVA with repeated-measures factors.
Dear list, I would like to run an ANCOVA using car::Anova with repeated measures factors, but I can't figure out how to do it. My (between-subjects) covariate always interacts with my within-subject factors. As far as I understand ANCOVA, covariates usually do not interact with the effects of interest but are simply additive (or am I wrong here?). More specifically, I can add a covariate as

Wrapper of linearHypothesis (car) for post-hoc of repeated measures ANOVA
For some time I have been looking for a convenient way of performing post-hoc analysis to Repeated Measures ANOVA, that would be acceptable if sphericity is violated (i.e. leaving aside post-hoc to lme models). The best solution I found was John Fox's proposal to similar requests in R-help: http://tolstoy.newcastle.edu.au/R/e2/help/07/09/26518.html

repeated measures with a group factor
I have a between-subjects factor, A, with three levels, and a within-subjects factor with 4 levels. There are 6 subjects at each A level. I get the correct F tests using the aov function with the stack form of the data frame but I want the epsilon adjustment (Greenhouse-Geisser, Huynh-Feldt). for nonspheriicty as well. I got the SPSS results using the standard broad data frame (a row for

Anova in 'car': "SSPE apparently deficient rank"
I have design with two repeated-measures factor, and no grouping factor. I can analyze the dataset successfully in other software, including my legacy DOS version BMDP, and R's 'aov' function. I would like to use 'Anova' in 'car' in order to obtain the sphericity tests and the H-F corrected p-values. I do not believe the data are truly deficient in rank. I
