VT built in?
Hi Xen team, one short question before I grab the new machine of a colleague: did you build Xen3 for Sid with VMX (virtualization with the newer Vander...Pacifica)? Or will I have to build it myself? Sorry for the direct mail to this list, but I'm not subscribed to Debian-Users. Please CC me, as I'm also not subsribed here. Thx. kind regards, Wolfgang -- cheers,

Nouveau / GeForce 7600 GS / DualHead / AMD64x2
Hi all! I just wanted to tell you that I checked out the latest nouveau version and replaced the old 'nv' driver. Additionally to the installation instruction I added Option "RandR12" "true" to the Device section and Virtual 2560 1024 to the Display subsection in the /etc/X11/xorg.conf file. Putting xrandr --output DVI-D-1 --auto --output DVI-D-0 --auto

Xen3 on Etch - Rebooting when 2nd DomU started
Hi All, Fairly new to Debian and Xen but I have a box running with lots of DomUs under Xen2 and it is fine. I have setup a new IBM eServer P4 and loaded Etch and loaded Xen3. It runs up my first DomU beautifully but when I start my second DomU it crashes the PC and reboots. If I comment out the line in /etc/xen/xend-config.sxp (network-script network-bridge) It will run 2 DomUs Have I run

how to get rhel3-ish distro run as domu with xen3
hello! i think i have an very common problem. i want to run a distro based on a 2.4 kernel (Scientific Linux 3/Centos 3/RHEL 3) in xen3 as domu. the dom0 is a 2.6 based and works fine. so i think the way to go is to "simply" use an 2.6 kernel. but now i see there are several things which don''t work for example module-init-tools are missing and i expect problems with the glibc.

I want to run the examples of a book titled "The Definitive Guide to the Xen Hypervisor", but Xen4.x seems not support the examples and says something like xc: error: panic: xc_dom_bzimageloader.c:607: xc_dom_probe_bzimage_kernel: kernel is not a bzImage: Invalid kernel So I have to install Xen3.4. On vmware, I follow the instructions from Internet to install Ubuntu 1004 with kernel

Xen3: Network becomes unreachable under load
Hello, we have the problem: We run 7 blades with a xen 3.0.1tha3 configuration (with the patches for debian from debianbase.de), which a is xenisied 2.6.12.6-kernel. Everything runs fine until we start producing heavy load on the network (e.g. multiple clients access our maxdb database), the dom0 and the domU network becomes unreachable (i.e. only every 100th-200th ping gets through).

bridging troubles with Xen3
Hi, I''ve been having troubles with bridge networking in Xen3. RHEL4 is running in dom0 and Debian sarge in domU. Both domains get their IPs from an external DHCP server. dom0 starts up OK and gets its IP from the server. (all networking services work fine; in and out) domU starts up OK and sometimes gets its IP while sometimes fails to get the IP. In any case, after logging into domU

xen3 on file backed partitions
Hi list, I''m running xen3 on verious systems and are very happy with the way it works. My set up is based on files as partitions but I have encountered a problem I can only create 4 partitions this way since all are primary partitions. Are there any solution to this problem other than move the domU''s to real partitions ? Thanks in advance Karsten

Xen3: Unable to start xenU with Intel Core Duo T2050
I have problems to get Xen 3.0 working on my notebook (FSC AMILO Pro V3205). I already used different operating systems for the xen0 domain, like FC5, SUSE 10.1 und Debian SID (2.6.16-2-xen-smp) but i always run into the same trouble. When I try to start a xenU domain it always hangs and I get this: ----------------------------------------------------------------------- debian37:~# xm create

xen3 domU on xen4 dom0
Greetings! Trying to to run a xen3 domU on a xen4 dem0 I run into problems. The xen server ''XEN1''(dom0) is openSUSE-11.3 (kernel 2.6.34) and xen-4.0.1. With qemu I created an image ''M08.raw'' from the SUSE-9.3 (kernel 2.6.11) and XEN-3.0 installation CD''s. The XEN modules were included in the installation. In M08.raw/boot I configured grub/menu.lst:

AMD SVN and Xen3
So, as promised, here an first summary. Hardware: AMD Athlon64 X2-4600+ with Asus M2N-Mainboard. Just a short hint: By far not all memory modules work with the Asus boards! Make sure to have compatible ones... After 2 days of trial and error I got the following results: Debian "Sarge" x64: Doesn''t like the new nVidia SATA-Controller (will check today with PATA-interface)

Transitioning notmuch/Xapian from 32-bit to 64-bit system
Hi! Suppose you have a huge notmuch/Xapian database, built on a 32-bit system (well, actually on x86_64-pc-linux-gnu, but using a years old 32-bit notmuch binary; notmuch 0.9, Xapian 1.2.21 -- don't laugh), and suppose you're finally going to update that years old notmuch installation (release by release, forward-porting a bunch of patches). Naturally, I'd now do a native 64-bit

[LLVMdev] Creating an LLVM backend for a very small stack machine
Hi folks, I am interesting in creating an LLVM backend for a very small stack machine. Before I start in on the actual implementation, I'd like to make sure that I'm on the right track. Any comments, suggestions, warnings, tips, etc would be greatly appreciated. Background ---------- There are a number of small as other embedded microprocessors that are often used in FPGAs such as
