EATON 5130 - testing done
We had a power outage and everything went as expected:
The UPS kicked in, it ran for 11 min while charge dropped from 100% to
10%, then it shut down the host.
When power was restored - 3 hours later - the UPS and the host came up.
We use "cacti" for graphs and this graph shows the same info as the
server log.
Host is running Ubuntu LTS 10.04.02 and we use the USB interface

Model list missing my UPS, here is info for inclusion on the list
Hello Niels,
thanks a lot for this compatibility submission. This is part of the
remaining things at Eaton.
I've added an entry to the new Hardware Compatibility List:
http://new.networkupstools.org/stable-hcl.html
BTW, have you tested a shutdown with this unit?
Otherwise, you should!
thanks again,
Arnaud Quette

The data about EATON 5130 (was Re: Model list missing my UPS...)
Hi Arjen de Korte,
you are right about the voltage - I should have noticed that.
I've tried to get the data using the driver with -DDD argument - but failed:
The output of /path/to/usbhid-ups -DDD -a PingvinUPS mainly shows
resource conflicts, even if I stop the nut service.
(/etc/init.d/nut stop)
I attach the output of std-out and std-err as well as a new output of
upsc. The battery

[PATCH] A couple of small fixes for 1.2pre14.
Hi,
This patch fixes a couple of small items in 1.2.pre14:
1. It's ssh-askpass, not scp that was moved to $(libexecdir)/ssh.
2. Make sure that $(libexecdir) exists.

Bug in openssh-1.2.2p1 scp program?
The scp program from openssh-1.2.2p1 behaves different from the scp
program from ssh-1.2.27. In ssh-1.2.27 you can copy one or more file(s) to
a remote users home directory using the command:
scp filename(s) user at remotehost
In openssh-1.2.2p1 this copies the file(s) to a file named
"user at remotehost" in the current (local) directory. To copy the files to
the wanted (remote)

[PATCH] Fixing a couple of glitches in configure.in (1.2.pre14.)
Hi,
After fixing the --with-tcp-wrappers problem I decided to look closer at
configure.in and found that --with-md5-passwords didn't work either. This
patch fixes both problems (remember to run autoconf.)

[PATCH 1/1 v2] Add UFS1/2 support to Extlinux installer.
It's needed to enumerate both UFS1/2 since they have different magic numbers
and super block offsets.
Besides, UFS2 can be installed in the 0-64k range like BTRFS, whereas
UFS1 can't. UFS2 has no cow feature unlike BTRFS.

FW: Installing BRugs
A funny thing happened when I wanted a student of mine to install Brugs.
Using the InstallPackages in the windows version, firts gives an erro, but trying again works flawlessly.
R version is 2.7.0 on WinXP.
Any explanation?

Experiences With NUT Eaton & Cyberpower UPS
I watched the recent discussions of "issues" with an Eaton Ellipse UPS with some interest.
I use the US version of that UPS, the Ellipse Pro 1500 in my case. I had not encountered many of the issues recounted in those discussions. The Login Failure message is not unique to that UPS as I have seen it with my Cyberpower units. The polling setting also had me wondering as I have never had

In the sense that there is no fan, The Eaton Ellipse ECO 1600 has passive
cooling. It gets warm but not hot.

"ECO" means that it does not have "buck and boost" or a fancy control panel. I

[PATCH] Adding BSD compatible install script to 1.2pre14.
Hi,
This patch adds a BSD compatible install script (copied from gcc-2.95.2)
to 1.2pre14. The script has a X-style license. The script will be used if
configure doesn't find a proper install program on the system.
Remember to run autoconf and set execute (755) permissions for install-sh
when the patch has been applied.

communication problems with eaton 9130 over usb
Hi!
I am not really experienced with UPS devices or UPS control software
like NUT but i am enthusiastic and trying to use Eaton-9130 (it has one
extra EBM too) as rationally as possible with NUT. I believe in general
things are under control and behave, although i have some glitches and i
would like to ask for help.
I am using Debian v. 7 amd64 and from its packages nut-server and
nut-client, v.

[Eaton 5S 1500] overvoltage shut down?
and I should have probably mentioned... right after the event I unplugged
the UPS's main and it went on battery, showing it had 11 mins worth of
power left which is exactly what I'd expect on that load with full
batteries. So the UPS "works" as expected, but then unplugging the cable
would test a power dip, not a power spike, which si what I believe
happened. thanks again,
