Timers fireing too early
Hi all, I've not been able to find the answer to my timer problem in the faq or the archives. (or google) Basically, I can't get timers to fire. They fire ignoring the timer value, as if the timer was set to 0. I'm using the OpenFiler distribution, patched to the latest and greatest. upsmon 2.2.2 When I pull the power plug, I see the text "Im In Battery" instantly, instead

nut-2.2.0+linux kernel usb/hiddev bug
-> ups at p34 POWER ALERT on Sat Aug 25 07:40:01 EDT 2007 -> UPS belkin at localhost battery is low The last good version is 2.0.4, someone e-mailed me from this list before exactly why this happened it was about ignoring bad events from the usb-dev subsystem/kernel but I guess my question is this going to get fixed or should I stick with 2.0.4 as long as I can? Thanks. # ./usbhid-ups

When Microsoft released their 8-9 new patches this week, around Tuesday, 02/08/05; I can no longer copy files to any of my samba shares. OT: remote power cycling
I'm in a situation where I'm going to have to deploy a rack of servers in an unmanned location in another country. On rare occasions, I've had systems that would not recover gracefully from a warm reboot and needed the power cycled. Years ago, I had such a device from APC, but haven't needed one in a long time since all my locations are staffed. I'd welcome any

2.6.31.4: Any other suggestions regarding a UPS/USB (APC1500VA) on (Intel P55KG) stale issue?
Hello, Problem: When I migrated from a DG965WH -> DP55KG motherboard, there were quite a bit of issues, host still does not reboot without special flags, e.g. reboot=a, the NIC driver is broken with the in-kernel version (the one on e1000.sourceforge) fixes that and finally my UPS USB has driver stale problems, with two issues already relating to the HW/drivers themselves it would not be

Some weeks ago, I asked if anyone had set up a backup scheme for a remote server. By backup here, I mean an alternative arrangement that can be called upon if eg the DSL connection to the remote machine fails. I received one interesting reply: ====================== At home, besides my fixed lines, I have two gsm-modems, one low-speed (that came free of charge with one of my fixed lines), the

using a Laptop as a KVM console?
Hi all, Has anyone seen something like this before: I want to use a laptop as a KVM console. Basically when a technician goes to one of our datacentres, or clients he has to look for a free LCD, keyboard & mouse to connect to a server (no network access, reinstall, troubleshoot failed kernel / HDD, etc). And then hopefully there's an open power socker in that cabinet. So I'm
