Linux and the APC Back-UPS ES
Dear Christian,
thanks for writing. I am no longer active in driver development, so I
am forwarding your question to the NUT user list. The people on the
list are very helpful.
Best wishes, -- Peter

Riello patch and examples (was: Nut-upsdev post from e.parisi@riello-ups.com requires approval)
Hi Elio,
once more, your email was blocked due to the 40 Kb limits...
note that here, NUT Monitor screenshots were not needed. upsc output is
sufficient.

[Fwd: Re: [Nut-packaging] Nut-packaging post from richard@aardvark.com.au requires approval]
First, I have taken this discussion from the 'nut-packaging' mailing list
to 'nut-upsuser'. Please don't reply in 'nut-packaging', since this is
off-topic there (sorry for the duplicate, this should be the correct
mailing list address).

I don't know why we can't read anything from this device. There are
many ways in which one could make a buggy device that works with

FWD: Syslinux post from localpart@domain.tld requires approval
Hello,
Usually is it easy to identify a valid non-subscriber-posting.
Example given: the four postings about "bugzilla is back" in last day.
Today there is a posting from
the data plane development kit project, http://dpdk.org/
DPDK is a set of libraries and drivers for fast packet processing.
Packets being network packets.
That posting is not spam, but it should not go to this

I'm forwarding Marco's msg to the list, since it's really too big, and
embeds upsc/upsrw/upscmd binaries!
cheers,

[Fwd: Wxruby-development post from noreply@rubyforge.org requires approval]
Alex: Any idea why the list is still bouncing these?
"noreply at rubyforge.org" is in the list of addresses that are supposed to
be allowed to post even though not subscribed. What is that about
"Message has implicit destination"???

Re: [Nut-upsuser] Ablerex 625L USB version
Peter,
I have been doing some more testing and I find that if I modify
the libusb.c file to set a report size in libusb_get_report to 16 the
error messages go away. This is the code as it currently stands:
static int libusb_get_report(usb_dev_handle *udev, int ReportId,
unsigned char *raw_buf, int ReportSize )
{
int ReportSize_test = 16;
unsigned char raw_buf_test[ReportSize_test +

have pruned that information from your output. Also, which

I get the following error on r809 (but it looks like the code change

error using lapply with oneway_test (coin package)
Dear expeRts,
I would like to use a oneway_test (from package coin) to test whether
two groups differ on various variables. The variables are encoded
within a data frame. Unfortunately, I obtained an error, that I don't
understand. Could you please help me ?
Example:
library(coin)
y <- as.data.frame(matrix(rnorm(200), ncol=2))
group <- as.factor(unif(100))

Re: Tripp Lite LCD models w/ NUT
Hi James,
thanks for the feedback. The output you get seems generally fine,
except for battery.voltage: 0.0 and output.voltage: 164.0; these
values are consistent with what Phil DeBoest reported.
Upsmon normally executes the shutdown command when you reach the "low
battery" threshold, as decided by the UPS and/or driver. It does so by
looking at ups.status, not battery.charge.

function optimization: reducing the computing time
Dear useRs,
I have written a function that implements a Bayesian method to
compare a patient's score on two tasks with that of a small control
group, as described in Crawford, J. and Garthwaite, P. (2007).

neuropsychology: Development of a bayesian approach. Cognitive

Re: your Tripp-Lite AVR550U
Hi Patrick,
I didn't get further bug reports from you, so I have now listed your
device as "supported" by newhidups. Last I saw as of your below
message, the driver was working as expected. If there are any future
problems, let me know! -- Peter
