Simultaneous ring internal extension and external phone number?
I have a client who is looking at replacing their PBX, and I'm
interested in putting together an Asterisk solution for them. One
feature that would really, really get their attention is if I could do
the "Vonage" thing, where if a PSTN caller dials a direct extension
(coming in over PRI) both the user's deskset _and_ an external number
(their cell phone) would ring, with

Change of default IVR prompt for meetme conference bridge.
Hi,
Is it possible to change the default voice prompt for Asterisk meet me
conference bridge. We have our own customized recordings for Welcome and PIN
request and would like to use that instead of the default "Please enter
your.. " .
If I replace the default sound file with my custom file by using the
same filename as the default message, will it affect any other
applications..??

Dialing Ring Groups from the Digital Receptionist-
Hi!
I've got a number of extensions (about 50) on a working Asterisk setup.
For each user, I have two extensions configured (for example 11021 for a
Cisco 79XX phone and 11022 for X-Lite), and a ring group that ties the
two extensions together (for example, 1102). Reason being that if the
user is away from his/her desk or working offsite, they can answer the
soft phone on the PC.

Ring Two Extensions Simultaneously with different caller ID values?
Hi All,
We're using Asterisk 1.4, and Cisco phones exclusively (mostly the 7961G, but a few 7911Gs and one 7912G for the time being-all running the SIP firmware image, plus a few analog extensions until the next capital funding cycle).
Each user has a phone at his or her desk, but there are also a growing number of "common area" phones (hallway, kitchen, conference rooms, data

Soft SIP phones (with RING !!)
Hi folks,
well the easiest soft phone I have found (from this list) is the x-ten.
great little piece of software.
BUT, on a windows machine I need to plug in a USB device and find the
software to drive it which can actually use a normal handset (similar
to the s100p) but can be used to actually generate/answer the calls and
actually rings when a call is received.
Any ideas ??

Soft phone sound quality help
Anyone got any tips on improving sound quality on soft phones running
under Window XP SP2?
I have tried Xlite, SJPhone and Firefly.
They all seem to have significant sound quality problems. We have a
reasonable sized network of several hundred devices connected together
using Layer 2 switches, i.e. pretty dumb switches with no QoS.
I also have a Grandstream connected to the same switching gear.

OT Vonage soft phone
In taking a cursory browse at Vonage's site today, I noticed they are now
offering a soft phone. Has anyone had any experience using this? And does
this possibly open new opportunities for using Vonage with Asterisk? Just
thinking outloud on the list, soliciting thoughts and experiences from
others.

free video (soft) phone available?
I am using eyebeam and I am happy with it. However, it is boring just to
talk to my son in the other room.
Whenever I try to convince somebody to buy eyebeam, they are scared of
the price.
Is there a free video soft phone available, that will work with eyebeam
/ asterisk?
bye

MozIAX - Mozilla IAX2 soft-phone 3sec delay
Did anybody tried MozIAX extension? It is Mozilla IAX2 soft-phone.
http://moziax.mozdev.org/
I tried it yesterday on eee pc, connected to asterisk on local LAN and the performance is terrible!
The delay is about 2sec or 3sec. and very bad echo.
I think it is the implementation of their IAX2 in their add on, as I have tried external mic. and the same delay problem.
As a comparison I've tried

Is there Blink SIP/SRTP soft-phone CentOS-6 rpm package available?
Does anyone know of a reputable repository where I can obtain a
CentOS-6 version of Blink as an rpm/yum package?
I have to support three platforms (OSX, MS-Win and CentOS-Linux) with
SRTP capable soft-phones. interoperating with an Asterisk-11 PBX; and
I would rather have only one client to deal with.

Fedora Core Soft Phone that works?
Hi,
Does anybody know of a SIP or IAX soft phone that works with Fedora Core
2. I've tried Zultys's one and after I type softphone it does nothing
and goes back to a console prompt with no debug output. When I try
linphone it says it tries contacting but just keeps spewing Not Yet
Established! to the console. It registers ok tho.
Thanks,
