dahdi-channels.conf vs. chan_dahdi.conf
Hey, all. Just added an analog card to our dual-T1 system... and
clearly I'm doing something wrong. Less interested in having the
specifics pointed out than in finding out how/why certain things work.
So, really, three things:
* What the bloody Hell is the difference between dahdi-channels.conf
and chan_dahdi.conf? (And who thought it was a good idea to have two

Asterisk TON number
Hi
Greeting to all you out there.
I am new at asterisk, I have been working with PLMN platforms telecommunication for 5 years with NSN and Huawei.
We have recently built an asterisk PBX with Trixbox and connected it to our MSS using Digium E1 cards(ISDN). Everything went smoothly as there are tons of information out there, except for the TON number.

But I can't seem to figure out what these warnings mean?

dahdi-channels.conf parameters
Hi,
I've always used dahdi-genconf to just create the dahdi-channels.conf
and since our PRI is fairly simple (just dump all the channels into one
group) it works with dialing with dahdi/g1/(number). I'm trying to
understand the file though for my own reference.
It seems the file looks like this:
group=0,11
context=from-pstn
switchtype = national
signalling = pri_cpe
channel => 1-23

Type Of Number setting (pridialplan) is not effective
Hello,
I have an Asterisk system in the UK using ISDN service from BT.
My problem is that the called number is always passed to the provider with the Type Of Number declared as ?national? despite pridialplan (and prilocaldialplan) is set to ?unknown?.
My questions are:
- How can I find out what the effective value is for the above two variables without actually making a call? (I have very

BT - ISDN30 - International Calls not working, everything else is fine :(
Dear All,
Thank you for taking the time to read this post - I am *confused!* as to why my asterisk setup does not work as it should. I have an ISDN 30 connection for telephony, a Sangoma card, and asterisk installed.
Incoming calls, and outgoing calls work 100%. Making an international call, results in silence, or the error message all circuits are busy

4 Port PRI
Hi Guys
I have a 4 port PRI card that I need to setup each port in their own
group.
In chan_dahdi.conf I have the following which works for one port
How do I add the rest of the ports in their own groups so that I can have
different signaling on each?

chan_dahdi under bristuff 0.4.0-RC11 not building under Linux 10.04.2 LTS
Hi all,
I downloaded a copy of bristuff 0.4.0-RC11 on my Ubuntu 10.04.2 LTS server
machine with 2.6.32-24-generic-pae kernel.
The prereq.sh script executes without complaints (BTW on my system,
libncurses-dev evaluates to libncurses5-dev and libz-dev evaluates to
zlib1g-dev).
With the asterisk 1.4.41 package that is installed, a make menuselect
operation indicates that all dependencies are met

dahdi-channels.conf -v- chan_dahdi.conf
Some recent issues I had with hardware seem to come back to not
understanding two very similarly named files:
/etc/asterisk/dahdi-channels.conf
/etc/asterisk/chan_dahdi.conf
I've modified the chan_dahdi.conf to work now, but it would appear all I
needed to do was include dahdi-channels.conf in chan_dahdi.conf and the
problem would not have persisted? Is it me or is that a bit Monty
Python?

Quick start configuration sample for "chan_dahdi.conf"
I am really a beginner of PRI ISDN board, I am wondering if there is a "quick start" chan_dahdi.conf configuration I could use.
I tried to install two "FreePBX" boxes follow the instructions from "http://www.cadvision.com/blanchas/Asterisk/DahdiT1trunk.html" connected them between PRIs, It worked. And now if I refer the FreePBX "chan_dahdi.conf" it looks

Update chan_dahdi.conf doc in voip-info.org
Hi,
It seems BRI signalling settings are missing from
http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/view/Asterisk+config+chan_dahdi.conf
I would like to add those parameters :
bri_cpe_ptmp
bri_cpe
bri_net
Is this http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/view/Asterisk+config+chan_dahdi.conftied
to a specific Asterisk version ?
Can I edit this ?

Removing `chan_dahdi.conf`
Hi guys,
I'm currently playing around with optimizing an Asterisk install (trying to
remove as many possible configuration files as possible) for testing and
debugging purposes.
I've been able to remove most of the files and maintain an error-less
Asterisk full file, with a single exception: I can't seem to remove
`chan_dahdi.conf` without having Asterisk complain in the full logs:
