how to limit the calls leaving a queue?
Hi,
I explain what I want to do..
All the operators share their phones. The number of the operator isn't
constant, so it's possible that two operators share all the phones.
They need to move all around, so they pick up the first phone they find.
If there are only few operator is very annoying for them to ear the
other phones ringing while they are at the phone!
So I'dd like to limit

Grub2 xen priority order
Hey all,
I have moved 10_Linux to 50_Linux and ran update-grub which is fine.
The problem I have is that there is xen-syms in /boot And that is being put first in the boot list which is incorrect.
How do you make /xen.gz at the top so it is booted first?
Thanks
Ian

No Internet, no asterisk
Hi,
this is an old outstanding problem, unfortunately I don't remember how
to walkaround it. I use asterisk 1.8.3 and I have a public IP in my
network interface. As soon as the Internet connection goes down, phones
stop working. I want to be able to use pstn, isdn and the gsm gateway
even if the Internet connection goes down, how can I achieve it?
Thank you,

Wifi handover/roaming
Hi,
I'm trying to configure two APs with a Wifi phone to allow fast handover.
I would like to know how to configure them.
Should I use the same ESSID and Channel on both ?
Suggestions about a good wifi sniffer ??? Is Commview the best option ?
Thanks,

OT - Is handover included in DECT GAP ?
Hi,
Do you if a DECT-GAP (or DECT-CAP) compliant handset MUST or MAY support
roaming and handover and are these functions transparent for handset (then,
these functions are implemented in DECT base stations) ?
Regards

Wifi - Managed access points...
Hi,
I'm working on a Wifi VoIP project specification. It will have almost 8 APs
and 20-30 wifi phones.
And after some research, I still having some questions ...
1) Are Managed Access Points (and switch controllers) really important to
implement good wifi woip (w/ low latency and acceptable handover time) ?
2) What is the difference between (3com WX1200 + 3com AP 3750) and
(DES-1228P +

Wi-SIP vs. SIP-DECT
Anybody care to muse on Wi-SIP vs. SIP-DECT?
My limited research indicates that none of the WiSip phones will ever be
able to match the performance of DECT phones. Maybe I'm wrong but a
Wi-SIP phone seems like a DIESEL sports car. There is nothing wrong
with the technology, but it seems like a shoe-horned fit into the
requirements of a wireless endpoint. DECT uses a wireless radio layer

DECT and Asterisk...
Hi folks,
The recent mention of DECT on this list has got me thinking.......
(yeah dangerours!)
I have very little experience/knowledge with DECT and mainly where I
have seen it used in a multibase base situation where handoff between
bases occurr. This has been and ericsson system used as an adjuct to an
ericsson pbx on a large multistorey property.
If I remember correctly the bases are fed 2

[OT] wi-fi ip phone scenario
Hello everyone.
I know it's a little bit off-topic, but I was just wondering...
Has anyone ever had any experience with asterisk,
a wi-fi meshed lan (with more than one access point)
and wi-fi sip phones?
I made some tests but I'm not really satisfied....
Wi-fi phones are a curse (as far as I know even
Nokia eSeries -I personally own an e70 model- have their flaws):

DECT gateways
Heya list,
I need some advice/experience.
Some of our customers are asking us about DECT solutions for
their asterisk install. Some others will not go to asterisk
if there won't be a DECT solution.
They now have a Siemens or a Samsung PBX. Those PBX-es come
with a DECT basestation and optionally repeaters etc.
All those basestations speak some own protocol to the PBX,
so we cannot use them

T38 fax detection using g729
Hi, I continue the discussion from
https://issues.asterisk.org/view.php?id=19103
If T.38 reinvite detection should still work, why it doesn't?
If I use faxdetect = t38 it does never detect the fax, even using alaw.
Cheers,

Problem using roaming profiles with wireless clients
Hello,
I have a Linux server acting as a Windows PDC and we're using roaming
profiles. Wired clients connect fine and upload/download their profiles.
Wireless clients do not. I also have RADIUS running on the Linux server
and the Wireless AP is configured to authenticate against the RADIUS
server as well, using the windows login information. I enabled verbose
debugging on the RADIUS

Intro to DECT vs IP
We've deoplyed a number of pure VoIP wireless (wifi & proprietary) phones, but not dect.
Is there a simple overview of integrating DECT phones with Asterisk somewhere? I assume the DECT basestation has a multi-account SIP VoIP interface, and the handsets are just plain old dect?
Can you push configuration info to individual phones? (Are they individually addressible / configurable

option than an ATA and a cordless phone..
Does anyone have any experience with the whats out there??
Do they support things like WPA etc??
I have heard the battery life can be a problem.. Is this the case?
Thanks..
