Linksys SPA962 with SPA932 unexpected reboots
We are having an issue with the SPA962/932 combo where the phone and the sidecar will reboot unexpectedly ? could be onhook, could be on a call, doesn?t seem to matter. I read that certain early firmware revisions could cause this so I?m running what was a week ago the newest available (5.1.18). A call to Linksys support suggested that I ensure that the phones are using a recent firmware version

High volume BLF - Suggestions?
Hi,
We have a user who is putting large call volumes through Asterisk, and
wants to BLF monitor up to 90 extensions. We are struggling to find a
handset that can keep up with Asterisk :)
1) Is there a handset that will do this?
2) Is there a different (standard) way to send BLF and allow directed pickups?
2a) Or even a handset specific way?
Asterisk handles the BLF volume fine, even on quite

Detecting read/write permissions
Hi
I'm currently using a windows image processing application that
regularly writes the user's image adjustments out to a 'sidecar' file in
the same directory as the original image. When the original file is on a
local disk this works fine but when the original image is on Samba
share, the sidecars are not created.
The application reports the following in its log:

BLF call pickup on Linksys SPA932
Greetings list,
We recently installed some Linksys SPA962 + SPA932 sidecars into a client's offices. The BLF functionality works fine, but call pickup using the BLF is something of an issue.
Following the advice on voip-info.org, I configured part of their dialplan as follows:
exten => _**2XX,1,Pickup(SIP/${EXTEN:2})
exten => _**2XX,n,Dial(SIP/${EXTEN:2},15,tw)

Using a sidecar? Ideas?
I'm looking for some ideas of people who have setup a sidecar (eg: Aastra
560M).
Obviously it's handy for BLF (to see who's on a call)...but what else?
Anyone want to share interesting things they've done with a sidecar?

Sip Sidecar Options
Hi all,
One of the things that I keep being asked for is a sidecar for the
receptionist phone. Are there any SIP phones available on the market
with a sidecar in addition to the snom? Or is the snom my only option?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Max

jitterbuffer
What is the consensus on using the 1.4 jitterbuffer? Do most people
enable it?
We have a "PSTN" server that has our RBS T1 trunks in a central location,
then have clients that connect via SIP to us for access to those trunks.
Most of them are just fine, but lately we have a handful that are having
latency and jitter issues. I am hesitant to just turn on the jitter
buffer in

Snom 360 Hinting tricks
I was always puzzled by posts to the list about people having problems
getting hints to work on a Snom, since I always seem to have no problem
making it work. That is, until today when I tried to get a sidecar to work.
All I could do was get a monitored extension light to light up continuously,
regardless of state. Frustrating! Going back to my working dialplans where I
got 1 or 2 lights working

Executive Assistant Guidance
Looking for two things:
1. Anyone that has dialplan logic for an executive assistant. My owners want their extensions to ring on her phone, and be very obvious to her which extension is ringing. They also want her to have presense. She's got Polycom IP 650 with sidecar, they have IP 550 phones. Thusfar I've got her registering to 4 extensions. Each extension is labeled with an

Snom360 Sidecar & Asterisk
We are looking to replace our existing Legacy PBX with Asterisk. Our
receptionist currently has a light display for a certain extension when
someone is on a call. When she needs to transfer she simply hits that
button.
Is it possible to use a snom360 + Sidecar to monitor 30 extensions and make
transfers using the buttons? Does the Cisco 7960 expansion module work with
asterisk?
Thanks.

IP 650 Sidecar
Is the IP 650 sidecar compatible with asterisk?
If I pair it with the IP 650 phone, can I have more than 6 "lines" registered w/ the server?

Polycom Blf / Directed Pickup
Would anyone happen to have some examples of polycom configs,
specifically the 650 with sidecar for blf.
I have the asterisk side all configured since I've set up blf with other
types of phones, but I'm missing the polycom side.
I've put together a <mac>-directory.xml, and the sidecar now lists
numbers as speed dials but does not subscribe to blf.

Snom870 sidecar
Hi,
Watching Snom 870's video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9e8hPxX0oDU), you
can see a new sidecar (phone extension) which seem very interesting.
Has someone details on this extension ?
Any release date or/and data sheet ?
Regards

7960 + 7914 Problems
I'm still having problems getting this to work. I cannot get anything to
display on my 7914 other than blank lines.
I have SIP/5920-5930 in [main] that I'd like to add to the 7914 and
indicate hook status. The 7960 is registering okay as SCCP/5000.
What exactly should my sccp.conf file look like? When I make changes to
this, how do I enact them? Do I reload Asterisk and reboot the phone

UNREACHABLE peer
I wasn't able to get much out of babytel, beyond the fact that I was,
apparently, sending options which is why I'm not getting 200 OK.
How can I, generally speaking, ping/telnet or otherwise test the
connection to get more data?
A connection to this peer directly from a softphone, Jitsi, works fine.

[VOIP-Users-Conference] Re: Opinions please: Polycom IP 430 vs 330?
Let me add another variable into the mix...what about the Linksys
SPA-962? Good, bad or otherwise? The 32 button sidecar seems like a
deal at $80 street price.
