High volume plot using log(local density)
Hi,
I am using the densCols to draw a high volume scatter plot. Instead of
using the default local density, I would like to take log of the local
density and then map them to the colors. I could not figure out how to do
that.
For example:
plot(x,y,col=densCols(x,y,"log")) ?
Any help would be appreciated!

sharing a ssd between rpool and l2arc
Hi,
as Richard Elling wrote earlier:
"For more background, low-cost SSDs intended for the boot market are
perfect candidates. Take a X-25V @ 40GB and use 15-20 GB for root
and the rest for an L2ARC. For small form factor machines or machines
with max capacity of 8GB of RAM (a typical home system) this can make a
pleasant improvement over a HDD-only implementation."

Hello all,
Figured I'd repost this with an edited subject line, to attract attention of
people with Debian On Sparc experience. Apologies in advance if this kind of
thing is frowned upon :)

Unable to compile --with-mysql on Solaris
Hello
I'm hoping someone can give me a pointer as to how to compile Dovecot with
MySQL support on Solaris.
I am trying to compile dovecot 2.0.13 (also tried 2.0.9) on Solaris
(OpenSolaris 2009-06, snv_111b) with the OpenSolaris provided MySQL 5.1.30
under /usr/mysql. The server is a Sun X2100 M2, which has a dual core AMD

Problem installing Asterisk with Mandrake 9.1
Hi All,
I am trying to get Asterisk up and running on my new Mandrake 9.1 install.
I've installed Linux in the "standard" mandrake security mode, and "su" to do
my attempts at install.
I managed to obtain the source from CVS, and have been able to compile Zaptel.
I then ran insmod zaptel, and also make config.
I think I have compiled and loaded Zaptel successfully as

Windows 2000 crashes
We used samba 2.0.6 under Redhat 6.1 with W98/NT4 clients without any
problems. Now we upgraded one PC with Windows2000. In the beginning everything
worked fine. But suddenly there are problems: Browsing a specific subdirectory
of a share on the server cause a inmediate crash of W2k with a automatic
restart. I upgraded to Samba2.0.7, again W2k crashes. I connect to this
subdirectory from a

SIP response 482 "Loop Detected"
Hi,
We have tried upgrading from 1.6.1.14 to 1.6.2.9 and have found that we are unable to URI dial our clients. We run a multi-tenant server and have set sip.conf to forward calls to a public context based on incoming domain name. This was all working before but not it is complaining of a loop back as the source and target server are the same.
Any ideas on how to overcome this problem as we dial

Xen 3.03 - no DMA memory available

have compiled the broadcom sources with Xen kernel sources...
First, I have used the private pool in kernel memory mode, i.e. the module
will try to assemble a physically contiguous of memory using the kernel page
allocator. This memory block is then administered by the mpool allocation
functions. Note that once a

Aggregation elements
Howdy,
Is there a method to get the number of elements in an aggregation? Are the
results stored in an aggregation guaranteed to be in any type of order?
Thanks for any insight,
