Zaptel answering the Line
I have a TDM400 card with 3x FXO and 1x FXS ports on it. At the moment I'd prefer (till I can get it working more reliable with iaxmodem), for a faxmodem to answer one of the lines instead of the linecard. I've tried changing the context of that line so that the exten => s does nothing, but that stops the line from being able to receive calls (get a recorded This number is not

Ast/Hyla/IAX Scalability?
Hello everyone- I recently read the thread entitled "Faxing Success Rate on PRI" which dealt with Asterisk/HylaFax/IAXmodem. I'm successfully using this 'recipe' in a few instances on systems with only a couple of analog lines all the way up to a full PRI worth of Iaxmodems. However, I'm finding that I'll need to scale upwards in the coming months and would like to

Hardware advice please?
I am quite new to Linux and have moved (almost) from a windoze NT4 environment. My present configuration is running SuSE V 8.0 with KDE3.0.5 desktop on two machines, connecting with Samba to an NT4 PC, and an occasional laptop or other PC that connects locally to the network. After a deal of searching, researching, and seeking advice I have decided to use Shorewall as my firewall.

Configure DAHDI with TDM410 for analog
Hello, I am now working on a project which need data modem calls passing trough asterisk with a TDM card. But i found out (as Mr Greg woods) that it was impossible. So know i am trying doing this using an E1/T1 card (TE110P). I am still working on it so we can help each other to find a solution to this.

External fax modem takeover of fxo?
Given all the issues with the fax DSP code and reliability, I'm looking into the option of using an external fax modem instead of trying to shoehorn asterisk into handling faxes properly... I'm thinking of hooking up the faxmodem to the line directly, then hooking the X100P to the modem's Phone port. Can I enable fax detection and use the fax extension to spawn an external command

size_t and printk and Xen
I am adding code in Xen that printk''s a size_t and find that I can''t write code (short of ifdef''ing) that compiles on both 32-bit and 64-bit because size_t is typedef''d in Xen as an unsigned long. C.f. http://www.velocityreviews.com/forums/t438359-portable-way-to-printf-a-sizet-instance.html It appears that the %z format is understood by Xen printk. Is the

OT: Polycom Firmware available (by accident?)
Not sure if Polycom is changing their policy or if this is an accident, but you can actually download SIP 3.1.1 right from their web site. Anyone looking for firmware should get it now before it disappears. SIP app and release notes can be found here: http://www.polycom.com/usa/en/support/voice/soundpoint_ip/soundpoint_ip450.html -Dave

Intel 536ep as a FXO?
Hi, I've seen some reports about ruuning Intel modem with 537 or MD3200 chipset running with Zaptel drivers as a FXO port. Did anybody managed to set up a PCI faxmodem based on Intel536ep chipset to work with * and Zaptel drivers? Modem seemd to work just fine with Linux, but the driver says no;) some more info: Linux 2.4.26 mazuchna:~# cat /proc/pci | grep 536 Communication

TDMOE Timing
Hello all, I have two machines I'm connecting with TDMOE (dahdi dynamic spans) and I have a question about timing parameters. By my understanding one machine should be the source of the timing and the other a slave of that timing. So on machine A I have the following in system.conf: dynamic=eth,eth0/00:0C:29:55:89:7E,24,0 On machine B I have this is system.conf:

Neuling

[LLVMdev] Reflexions about a new HDL language
If you're designing a new high-level HDL, then it would be a good idea to familiarise yourself with the state of the art in this area (e.g. Bluespec System Verilog, Symbolics Processor Designer, and similar tools). Starting from comparisons to VHDL and Verilog is like designing a new high-level programming language today that is designed to be a better high-level programming language that is

Ast 13 beta 3 - Segfault when calling on pjsip trunk with directmedia=yes
Hello all, I'm setting up a couple of test boxes and I'm running into a problem. What I need help with is determining whether I'm going something wrong or if I need to post a bug report. I have two asterisk 13.0-beta 3 machines set up with extensions connected to each as such: 3700 ----> AST-A <------> AST-B <---- 3800 & 3801 When I place a call from 3800 to

Foip solution
Hi all, I've cross-posted this to the -users and -biz groups. Hope that's OK. I have a customer who REALLY needs to be able to send/receive faxes reliably. I could probably get hylafax configured, but I'm not sure how reliable it is. If it is considered reliable, would someone let me know? Otherwise, is there a product/service they can buy that will allow them to fax to/from

How to comment in R
Hi everybody, I use for the moment "#" at the begining of each line for comments. Is there any possibility to comment more than one line, like something which shows the beggingng and the end of the comment? Or is there a possibility to comment only a part of a line? Thanks, Mihai [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

AT&T PRI Install - What is outpulsed?
Hey All, AT&T is installing a PRI in a couple weeks and while I've been doing homework on PRI's for the last few weeks there's something I'm still confused about. After being asked how many digits I wanted them to send us (10) was how many digits will you outpulse to us, 4, 7 or 10? I asked her what that meant and all I got was the question repeated. Do any of you have

[LLVMdev] Reflexions about a new HDL language
Hi, For the synthesis backend which translate to VHDL or Verilog, I don't know if I will use LLVM. It will depend on how easy it is to play with concurrent statements with LLVM. For the simulation I will use LLVM because I can anyways artificially make the compiled code sequencial. It would allow me to benefit from all the nice things from LLVM like existing optimisations. I have never

Application Faxing using SIP
I have a specific business problem that I'm hoping someone has ideas and/or has already worked out a solution. My application needs to be able to automatically create and issue faxes to many different fax machines. The volume is going to be very high. And it is only about sending faxes and not receiving them. My application is hosted by an ASP but the Linux (Fedora 2) server is

Getting SPEEX to work
Apologies for the double post in re my SPEEX issues, but can anyone report successfully installing libOgg and getting SPEEX to work on Asterisk? Details: Fedora Core 3, Asterisk 1.0.4, VoicePulse Connect. Here's my original query with the CLI log http://lists.digium.com/pipermail/asterisk-users/2005-February/ 088225.html Thanks. /rg

Bottom line on fax reception
So what is the bottom line? Does it work or not. I've heard stories it works, it doesn't work, it kinda sorta works when it's not raining out side. Everything under the rainbow. What's the bottom line with recent updates on 1.2.x? Is it production ready for fax? By production ready I mean that it just works all the time and doesn't need any babysitting. Do I have to worry
