2 pretty irritating issues....
Hey All ~ 1, queue records on fairly unreliable. I would say about 40 - 60 percent of the queue calls are not being recorded and I'm not sure why. I don't seem to see any kind of pattern to the failure. I've added a sample of our queue config at the bottom. 2, cel_pgsql module seems to crash regularly. It seems every time I look at our asterisk server, the cel_pgsql module is

Set (MONITOR_FILENAME=.................) for queuing recording calls
Hi All; I noticed in the queues.conf the configuration for recording the calls in the queuing, and regarding to the filename (or any other parameter), it is written that I can determine the filename using the command: Set(MONITOR_FILENAME=foo) But it should be called from the dialing plan, but really i did not understand how to call it from the dialing plan. Well, for example this is my

DTMF input while waiting in queue...
Hey all! I'm trying to figure out how to have a queue accept an inbound caller's key press to action on. At first I'm just trying to implement a "Press 1 to leave a voice mail" announced and at any time in the queue, the user can press 1 and go to the queue's voicemail. Later I'd like to have it accept "Press 1 if this is an x issue, press 2 if this a y

STRFTIME function declared in globals context
I'm trying to declare a few date-related global variables to ease my dialplan. When I declare the following in the [globals] context of extensions.conf, I get unexpected results: YEAR = ${STRFTIME(${EPOCH},,%Y)} MONTH = ${STRFTIME(${EPOCH},,%m)} DAY = ${STRFTIME(${EPOCH},,%d)} TIMESTAMP = ${STRFTIME(${EPOCH},,%Y%m%d-%H%M%S)} If I evaluate these variables in the dialplan later, using exten

CDR / billsec / originate / local chan
Hi All, I have been running a environment with asterisk 1.4.20.1 for some time now with no issue but have recently added some extra functionality (enabled call recording via MixMonitor) and ran into some deadlock issues which seem to be well documented with earlier 1.4.x releases so have decided to take the plunge and upgrade. I decided to start testing with 1.6.2 but have run into a couple

Help - Received response: "Forbidden" from'"Unknown"
I did a NoOp and see what the callerid was and when coming from the SIP Ext->Voip it is set to the Extension Number of the SIP Extension (as you would expect). When coming from the Panasonic the CallerID is blank, I tried setting it to nothing again, and I tried setting it to the callerid of the voip provider, a sip extension id, the extension number on the Panasonic side, the zap channel

[1.4 - Record] How to tell if user did leave a msg?
Hello I didn't find the answer in the ATOF 2nd Ed: When using the Record() application, I need to know how it ended: Did the user leave a message, or did he hang up? If the latter, Asterisk stops right there, while I need to run some other commands before hanging up: ======== exten => _[1-4],n,Playback(/root/asterisk_sound_files/leave_msg) exten =>

conversation record prematurely
I have following line in a context: ... exten => _587NXXXXXX,n,Set(recordfilename=${CALLERID(num)}-${EXTEN}-${STRFTIME(${EPOCH},MST,%C%y-%m-%d-%H%M)}.wav) exten => _587NXXXXXX,n,MixMonitor(${recordfilename},b) ... It records the conversation but it ends prematurely, after 10min. Why? Where is the setting to records until a user hangup the handset. -- Joseph

Changing the automon output filename
Hi list, The default automon (touch monitor) output file name format is: auto-epoch-caller-callee.wav A variable is available to modify the second half: auto-epoch-${TOUCH_MONITOR}.wav But, I can't modify the first half, 'auto-epoch-', with any variables that I know of, including ${MONITOR_FILENAME}. originate, local channel and failure extension
Hi All, I am in the process of migrating from 1.4.20 to 1.6.2.x and have stumbled across a number of "differences" between the 2 versions that are forcing me to use local channels in my dialplan (mainly centered around the different behavior of CDR fields in the 2 versions) . Previously, I would place a call via an AMI Originate action similar to: action:.Originate..

Answered time on channel
It seems that what ever I set in my answer handler does not show up in the hangup handler. In order to do billing I can't rely on the g option where the caller hangs up the call. Looks like I can either use h or a hangup handler along with the shared function. On Tue, Dec 26, 2017 at 4:40 PM, Eric Wieling <ewieling at nyigc.com> wrote: > Don't use an 'h' extension, use

Alternative to Local channel
You can't set the variable in globals? I don't know if functions work in globals, but it is worth a try.
