libwine 20041019 needed
Hello,
I am deinstalling wine and reinstalling at the
20041019 level. I'm running the 2.6.11.7 kernel with
the debian distribution. In Aptitude I need to
reinstall wine, winetools and libwine. I can find the
20041019 version for everything except libwine. I
think libwine must be known by a different name in the
rest of the *nix world. I am downloading the RH9 RPM

Facing Problems with installing wine source
Hi,
I downloaded the source file wine-20050211.tar.gz, extracted it and then followed the instructions provided in the wine user guide. I did ./configure, then make depend && make, then make install.
Then, whenever I try to execute wine, it gives me an error message that it could not find libwine.so.1
What could be the problem? Further, I have a requirement of running Internet

R: error while loading shared libraries: libg2c.so.o
I have just installed the version of R for Linux Enterprise Server AS. When R is launched, I receive the following error message:
R: error while loading shared libraries: libg2c.so.o cannot open shared object file: no such file or directory
I have added the path to the library above to the /usr/etc/ld.so.conf file and then run ldconfig -v. The listing then shows that the libg2c.so.o is

wine: error while loading shared libraries: libntdll.so
I had an old version which I removed by the "remove all" or sth method. I
think I may have done a mistake when I was removing and I get the following
message but nothing else, it is an unstripped version:
wine: error while loading shared libraries: libntdll.so: cannot open shared
object file: No such file or directory.
Please let me know which is the normal way to recover since

libwine-alsa, etc. still relevant?
This came up before when debian upgrade wanted to remove these because of
their being the previous version. Now all the version numbers are consistant.
Deborphan lists them as orphans--no longer used!
So ... are all these provided in the "main" wine library and these packages
actually orphans? If so, why are they still around? If not, what is going on?

can't find libntdll.so, but it's there
Wine (20001202-1mdk) invoked, message "can't find libntdll.so, no such file
or directory." However there is such a file. Same wine.conf file used as
with earlier version 20001026-4mdk. In both installations, wine never made
a proper wine.conf file, file was blank and I had to write my own. I don't
notice anything in the wine.conf file about where the libraries are.

0.9.49's libwine "fix" broke my "system wide install" kludge...
Short version: I'd like help in configuring the registry as described in Section 3.2.4 to allow for system wide installs. 0.9.49's libwine 'fix' plugged a security hole I was happily using to achieve the same effective result.
Thanks!
Eric

Name resolution error help needed
Hello,
I've checked the FAQ and followed steps I can find there. I made sure my
/etc/hosts is correct as in the FAQ. I tried complete
uninstall/reinstall of Wine and data. Iceweasel and all other normal
linux programs work fine to resolve addresses. WoW under Wine works
fine. Fresh install of Firefox for Windows only works under Wine if I
use a IP address instead of a hostname, so Wine

CRAN indices out of whack (for at least macOS)
I have received three distinct (non-)bug reports where someone claimed a
recent package of mine was broken ... simply because the macOS binary was not
there.
Is there something wrong with the cronjob providing the indices? Why is it
pointing people to binaries that do not exist?
Concretely, file

CRAN indices out of whack (for at least macOS)
Dirk,
yes, thanks, the edge server that serves the Mac binaries to CRAN has run out of disk space (due to size of CRAN itself) so the sync was incomplete.
It is fixed now -- you can try by using the macos master server as mirror: https://r.research.att.com/ and it will propagate through other mirrors as usual.
Thanks,
Simon

libwine problem! - PLEASE HELP!!
Hi there,
Over the last week I wanted to move from using Borland windows compiler
to g++ with libwine. I used winemaker to make the makefile. Fixed some
problems with compiling (2 or so). But now I acn't start the program...
The output file is the amdprime.so and a amdprime symlink to the wine
script.
But if I try to run the symlink I get:
./AmdPrime: line 400: 29548 Segmentation fault

wine install failure after reqression tests
I am not sure what happened but while doing regression tests something
changed on my system that prevents wine from installing. I can only run
wine from the tree via ./wine.
During regression testing I was making copies of the the compiled source
tree at the some of th testing points to save the compile time on the
next time I have to do a regression test.
I may have installed and uninstall a

guestfsd: error while loading shared libraries in SUSE12
Hi guys,
I've struggled in this error for 1 week and your help is really appreciated. As one EMC software engineer, I need to setup the libguestfs tool in SUSE12 ( SUSE11SP4 is also OK, while SUSE12 is preferred ) to mount some qcow2 image from openstack environment. Then we can read its file system architecture and restore some files.
