CAP_FOWNER=ep for asterisk
Hello, I need CAP_FOWNER=ep for the asterisk process, i set it with setcap on the file /usr/sbin/asterisk, it's there when i look on it with getcap, but after starting and loocking with getpcaps there's only cap_net_admin+ep set. So how exactly do I set CAP_FOWNER? Do I have to patch and recompile or is there another solution I did not see yet? thanks, best -- Raimund Sacherer

Hello Mailinglist, we have a Xorcom Astribank which is installed at our client and working since 10/2008. Suddenly last week there where odd behaviors, no calls going through (it is used to route calls to GSM Gateways). Upon testing (reinitialization of the complete gear) it turned out that one call get's through and then nothing more. I have nothing in the logs, indicating that Asterisk

ATA shootout: PAP2T versus Grandstream Handytone 286
I'm considering a situation where I buy about twenty ATA devices. I've played with the Linksys / Cisco PAP2T, and got that working fine with some inbound and outbound faxing. The web GUI was okay. I'm seeing prices around $45 to $50 for this thing. It comes with two FXS ports, but I only need one FXS. I've seen the Grandstream Handytone 286 online. It looks promising as an

Breaking news, but what happened? 11.000 channels on one server
Hello Asterisk users around the world! Recently, I have been working with pretty large Asterisk installations. 300 servers running Asterisk and Kamailio (OpenSER). Replacing large Nortel systems with just a few tiny boxes and other interesting solutions. Testing has been a large part of these projects. How much can we put into one Asterisk box? Calls per euro invested matters. So far,

Timecondition fallthrough on 2nd GSM Modem, First modem and ZAP's are all fine
Hello, we have an asterisk (1.4.21.2) with ZAP and mISDN channels, the mISDN are 2 incoming GSM Modems, each with 2 simcards. No, the mISDN line one and two are fine, but when I get a call on line 3 something with the time is wrong. Timeconditions fall through to off-hours even if the time of the call is clearly inside business hours, here a log excerpt: [Aug 26 11:04:36] VERBOSE[3112]

Samba 3.0 Alpha
Does net rpc join work in SAMBA (using HEAD from CVS compiled this morning) Configured with ACL, with PAM, and with WINBIND. It seems that I cannot rejoin my domain (PDC is NT4sp6a) after I turfed machine.sid and secrets.tdb. I tried using smbpasswd first and was informed to use net join rpc instead. Logs available if needed. Thanx Hans

Help needed with Tinc Setup on remote hosts and lots of ISPs / Failover Problems between ISPs
Hello Guus, thank you very much for your suggestions, I could not dive into it further because I was traveling, but now I have time to reconfigure the network. At first I really like the idea of having 3 Daemons on the headquarter, one for each ISP. The firewall should forward the port 655 from each ISP's public IP Address to my internal server and to the ports 655, 656, 657 respectively,

Help needed with Tinc Setup on remote hosts and lots of ISPs / Failover Problems between ISPs
Hello Guus, > This will cause tinc to automatically add and remove routing entries, > depending on which nodes are reachable. You will get multiple routing > entries for the same subnet but to different interfaces. One of them > will be chosen by the kernel based on the order of addition, but you > don't care about it so it's fine. If tinc detects that a node goes down,

Question marks, asterisks, colons in filenames
Hi, I suppose this question must have been posted a hundred times, but Google brings up nothing useful: Consider "The Wall" from Pink Floyd in an MP3 collection. There's "In The Flesh.mp3" and "In The Flesh?.mp3" as tracks. Or, another example in an MP3 collection: There's a Band called "Stellar", but there's also a band called

streaming, non downloadable mp3 server
Hi, I'm looking for a server software for linux that allows to share mp3 as streams only. I came across "edna", but edna uses http as protocol, so downloads are possible... Is icecast good for the job, or does icecast not allow music on demand? Cheers, Raimund --- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ icecast project homepage: http://www.icecast.org/ To

Array Help
Hi, I have two 3 D arrays. Both are of this form array_1<- array[n,n,k] array_2<-array[m,m,k] Lets say n=83 and m=80 Since n>m. I would like to add rows and columns to array_2 to make them equal.
