Newbie just starting out with *
Hey all...I'm brand new to * and I want to convert my home into a pbx
type setup. I've figured out that I want a Wildcard X100P to bring my
single POTS CO into my Linux box. My problem is that I'm sure sure what
I need to do to get my analog phones connected up into a structured
phone system. It *looks* like I can go the route of the Cisco Analog ->
VOIP for about $100 on ebay.

multiline, cordless, expandable phone system and asterisk message waiting
Basically, pretty much all the 2 line cordless systems I've seen come with a
built in digital answering system that I'll never use, the main problem with
this is that these units don't support VMWI (visual message waiting
indicator) with telco supplied voicemail. This is a problem because I'll be
setup an Asterisk system in the next month or so to handle my 2 analog and 1

voice quality of Aastra 480i CT and cordless
Hi Folks,
Looking for feedback on the cordless phones with the Aastra 480i CT handset. Is voice quality comparable to standard consumer residential 2.4GHz cordless phones in the US$30 - $50 price range, or better/worse?
How about handset and speakerphone quality for the main phone?
Seems like there have been various big issues with firmware in past, but is it pretty stable now?
Thanks,

spouse-friendly spa-3000 pstn interface
This post is simply documenting a spouse-friendly way of using the
spa-3000 as both a fxs and fxo port for basic soho environments in
the US, allowing asterisk to participate as needed/wanted.
All home phones are connected _only_ to the spa-3000 fxs port.
The incoming home pstn line is connected _only_ to the spa-3000
fxo port.

Handset recommendations
Seeking recommendations on handsets for use with Asterisk.
I've been looking at the Aastra 480i CT because of its cordless handset and
also the new Linksys SPA-942. Anyone using either one of these with
comments on them?
Any other thoughts on good reasonably priced handsets? This is for just a
couple of people who work from home offices and will be connecting to an

Performance of large llvm::ConstantDataArrays
I'm running into some pretty bad performance in llc.exe when compiling some
large neural networks into code that contains some very
large llvm::ConstantDataArrays, some are { size=102,760,448 }. There's a
small about of actual code for processing the network, but the assembly is
mostly global data.
I'm finding that llc.exe memory spikes up around 30 gigabytes and the job
takes 20-30

Asterisk for home office
I apoligize in advance for this newbie question on what I perceive as
a mostly advanced level list... I did some searching, but would like
some of your expert opinions.
I'm building an asterisk server to be used in the home, both to learn,
and as proof of concept of applying this solution in a home. To keep
costs down, I'm considering one X100P ($25 ebay clone) card to connect

X100M never goes on-hook state
Hi guys,
I've been experiencing a very strange issue with my Digium Card TDM400
as of this week. It has two FXS and two FXO.
The FXO modules (both of them) never goes on-hook after hanging up in
Asterisk. It had worked perfectly well for over four years.
I put an ammeter in series with the line and the card, and immediately
after plugging the connector to the card, I got 26mA in the circuit

AMP/A@H (asterisk at home) custom incoming routing
Folks,
First off, this is messy, and I hope someone will be kind enough to
help me clean this up (the part added to extensions_additional.conf).
You've been warned!
For those of your using AMP or A@H, there has been a lot of talk
about how to route incoming calls to different places based on which
trunk is ringing. The standard answer is that you can only do this by
using DIDs,

opening 2 and more channels on 1 SIP account
Hi!
I have a Grandstream VoIP Device, at which a DECT base with 2 cordless
phones are connected. If a call is placed and made through one cordless
phone the other cordless phone appears as busy.
What I want:
1. The Base station of the DECT cordless phones, is connected at 1 FXS
Port of my Grandstream Telephone Adapter.
2. I want to place and receive as many calls at the same time through 1

telemarketing application
Hi,
I have the following requirements I'd like to implement with asterisk:
1. Asterisk notifies interested PC's on the network that there's an
incoming call so that the telemarketing app can bring up the customer
automagically
2. If a telemarketer makes a call and the customer isn't there and they
arrange a callback, the callback is diverted to the originating
telemarketers phone

Will Echo problems EVER be solved, I'm scared
I came into this with my eyes wide open. I have read ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING
there is to be found on the net about avoiding echo problems BEFORE I even
attempted to create a production system. Since lots of people are
apparently using this in production environments now I just assumed that
echo IS avoidable.
As others have recommended, I created a test system with the proposed

soft ATA on linux with zaptel?
Slightly OT, but I'm wondering if anyone here has come across a "soft
ATA". That is, software that will perform the functions of a basic POTS
line ATA on Linux with a zaptel driven card.
I have a Linux machine with a zaptel card in it and I want to have
another Linux machine running Asterisk utilize the zaptel card in the
first Linux machine to make outgoing and receive

Cisco SPA3102 Thoughts & Other Recommendations
I'm looking to build a VoIP solution for 100+ service vehicles that have
WiFi hot spots installed (with cellular uplinks). Currently we are
trying out Skype wireless handselts and Majick Jack. I'd also like to
consider an Open Source solution that can bring the calls back to our
data center [possibly integrated without our existing BCM 3.x VoIP
PBX].

Compile for ARM SVE with the latest LLVM
Renato et al.
In the meantime, is there an out of tree branch I mean, other than LLVM
trunk so I can test how much I can SVE vectorize my code with it?
Arm seemed to gave taken down the GitHub branch for sometime.

Asterisk to switch on electric heaters remotely?
Hello
I'm sure someone has already tried this: I use a couple of electric
heaters to heat my office.
I'd like to somehow connect them to Asterisk so that I could switch
them on remotely by either calling the IVR or sending an e-mail to the
Asterisk host, so that the room is warm when I get to the office :-)
Any information appreciated.
Thank you.

Digium FXS specifications and limits Question
Howdy All,
I'm considering Asterisk / Digium as a replacement to my existing phone
switch. I need to continue to be able to push analog lines between
multiple buildings in a campus environment.
The Digium Analog 410 Card manual states it's not recommended to go
beyond 1500 feet distance for an FXS card, and no line should leave the
building or be bundled. The 2400 Series Manual does

TDM40B and weird analog problem
OK, I have a Asterisk @ Home 1.0.7 server with two Digium TDM400 cards, one 4
port FXO and one 4 port FXS. When I plug an analog cordless phone into the
TDM40B card and setup a ZAP extension, the phone rings in and you can answer
just fine. The weird part is when you try to get dialtone from the cordless
handset it rings all of the other extensions... One other thing to mention is
that the
