Problem with Connecting PBX to Asterisk
We have an old Telrad 128KSU PBX to which I am trying to connect asterisk in the following manner: Current Setup: Telco-> T1->PBX Desired Setup: Telco-> T1-> Asterisk-> T1-> PBX. I am first trying to setup the Asterisk -> T1->PBX part without disturbing existing setup so I can get asterisk to forward calls to PBX and once that is done, I would try to move the telco

International calls/pridialplan from a legacy PBX.
Hi, all. This e-mail is a follow-up to an exchange I had several weeks ago. I've got an Asterisk box with a dual-span T1 card. I want to place it between the PSTN and my company's legacy PBX. I actually did do that, but international calls from the legacy PBX were having the "011" stripped off *AT* the PBX -- and someone pointed out that the PBX was probably using the

Emagen (a Telrad VM solution) -- any way to replace with *?
Hi, all. I've got a PoS Emagen VM system tied in with our Telrad PBX. I hate 'em both, but I'm stuck with the Telrad for the time being. That being said, does anyone know of a way to replace the VM solution with Asterisk? I'd -love- to get an Asterisk box in the loop, here. Thanks, -Ken

Telrad + E&M T1 Trunk
All, One of our customers is using a Telrad PBX, we are providing phone server through asterisk via a T1 using e&m directly connected to the Telrad system. We're using a T1 cross cable as normal, the T1 part works great. No alarms. When we try and dial out the Telrad using a direct trunk group, the call fails. When looking in the asterisk console I noticed only 1 or 2 digits are seen,

question on nortel CS 1000 PBX and PRI connection to built in PA system
Hi, I have asterisk running a single T1 card with a connection to a nortel CS 1000. All calls to extensions, local and long distance are working just fine. My issue is this: The nortel CS 1000 supports connections to and intercom system that is just line level audio to speakers. When my PRI tries to call this "extension" it is never answered so my AGI never runs to play a message

Setting MWI on legacy PBX
Before I go and try to write something myself, I'm curious if anyone has a script that they're using for setting and clearing the MWI on a legacy PBX. I need to pick up a Zap channel and dial #63XXX to set the MWI, or #64XXX to clear it, where XXX is the extension number. One complication is that I've got a couple dozen extensions to handle the MWI for, and only four channels to work

Nortel pbx & dtmf issues
folk, I see from the archives that the issue of nortel handsets not sending dtmf tones to asterisk has been discussed a couple of times, but there is something I quite havent seen answered yet. Is this dtmf issue a problem with the nortel handsets or the PBX itself? If the handset were changed to another one, would this issue be solved? Or must the PBX be changed completely? rgds eb

Network design question
Hello! My business is a wireless ISP. I would like to offer voice to several business customers. I have a * server, but still need some hardware cards for it. I would like to provide individualized billing to these customers for their usage. Most of these customers have Nortel PBX's. Could I use a Cisco ATA or a similar manufacturer to provide 1-2 line service? I would like to get

Generic question about PBX PRI installs
Hi all, We we send a server out to a customer with a PRI card I basically tell the PBX person that we want national, NI2, b8zs, D channel is on 24, and we are the CPE and your the NET and us a cross over cable. Allow extensions, local calls and long distance. on the surface I would have thought this would be enough for them to connect the digium card to the PBX and get calls working. The PBX

Asterisk with Ericsson MD110 PBX
I was just wondering if someone has experiences to use Asterisk in an existing Ericsson MD110 environment. Particulary I'd like to know if it is possible to use the MD110's system phones directly connected to Asterisk. I'm not very familiar with it but would it be possible to use ADSI with these phones? Are they more like analog or more like digital phones or is the protocol even more

Large Asterisk installarions (~10, 000 extensions), preferably at universities
Hello, Our university has to upgrade soon its old Nortel PBX's which holds around 10,000 extensions tied to 5 PBXes. Up to now we thought about commercial solutions but now there is a window openning for open source solution. However, I need examples to convince that this solution is feasible, and preferably at other universities. Are there any pointers for such installations?

Asterisk integration with office PBX
Forgive me if this question has been asked/answered in another post. And let me reiterate what other users have frequently said - Asterisk is great, and I really appreciate all the work you folks have put into it. How have some of you gone about integrating Asterisk with a legacy office PBX, such that the end-user can use a regular office (digital handset) and dialing is fairly seamless ? Our

use of Asterisk and T100P as Nortel DSX-1?
Hi all, I've seen a couple of posts recently from people who are doing something with Asterisk and a T100P and a Nortel PBX. However it's not clear exactly what they are doing. Does anyone know if it's possible to use a T100P or T400P as a DSX-1 interface to connect to a T1/PRI CO module in a Nortel PBX? We have a Nortel Norstar Modular ICS PBX and I'd like to plug its CO

Forklift a 2000 phone PBX
I'm staring at an RFP--this company wants to replace a 2000 position PBX (at eight locations) with a new system. Their mindset is Nortel/Avaya because they talk about 28-button digital sets. The do specify a few IP phones for just one location, so they are aware of VoIP. I'm going to bid on this--there's nothing to lose except the time it takes to write the proposal. I'll

Asterisk SMDI for Nortel Option 11
Does anyone know if Asterisk can function as a voicemail system for a Nortel Option 11 PBX? We will be connecting Asterisk to act as an IVR before sending calls to the Nortel and as a Voicemail system in case the user does not answer. That part is trivial, the only problem we have is that the customer wants the Voicemail light on the Nortel phones to light up when a user gets a new message.
