Has anybody used fanless computers of logic supply with asterisk?
Hi, I have to install an Asterisk PBX for a customer and he wants something like logic supply's fanless computers. Can anybody advise about how good will they work, are they compatible with the Asterisk system? I'll also be installing a sangoma 4 port FXO card in it. -- Zeeshan A Zakaria -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

Will a VIA Epia ME6000 with a 600MHz Eden fanless CPU be suffiecient for 8 extension system?
Hello I am using a VIA Epia ME6000 with a 600MHz Eden Fanless CPU. Is this likely to be enough power for a 8 extension system with 6 external pstn lines? How important is cpu? Is there some measure, eg xMHz CPU per extension or something benchmark? I have installed 512MB memory - again any benchmark for asterisk memory usage? Angus

OT: headless fanless silent 2 HDs micro server/pc...
Hey, A bit out of topic but I am looking for a micro server/pc if anyone knows a descent one... I found many nice NAS but I would like to have full access to the OS (install CentOS, etc). Dream one would be - Very quiet (fanless) since it will sit in my bedroom. - Headless - Small. - 2/3 HDs (2.5" are ok) for RAID1 (hardware RAID would be nice, and with BBC even more).- 1 or 2 GB NICs -

Fanless solution
Hi there, I'm looking for a compact fanless solution preferrably wall mountable and not too exotic. It needs to be commercial grade. I don't really consider most of the Via ITX solutions I have seen commercial grade but perhaps someone can convince me otherwise. This solution is about the best I have found. Maybe a bit on the exotic side but I like the fact it is wall mountable AND

Need help with a pika warp asterisk appliance problem.
I've tried the forums at pikawarp.org and it seems no one is there anymore. Is there someone here that can help. last week I decided it was time to upgrade the rom on the machine to try to get the newest freepbx. so I followed the instructions to upgrade. I resetup the extensions and all the other setting like it was before. I did this over the network so I go onsite to double check

Digium Asterisk Appliance voicemail & logs
Does anyone know how much space the appliance has for voicemail and/or logs? Doesn't have an embedded disk from what I can see, and only a 1G flash card? -- Barry D. New Embedded Distro
Hi All, A couple of weeks ago I noticed Askozia PBX, which is a new embedded Asterisk & OS distro at http://askozia.com/pbx. This caught my attention for two reasons; it uses v1.4 of Asterisk, and it uses the m0n0wall development framework to build on FreeBSD with a PHP based GUI. I've used m0n0wall for years, and FreeNAS also, which shares the same OS/GUI framework. I booted the latest

ext3 Overhead
Hello! I'm using a CompactFlash as storage device. Since those CF cards only have limited write cycles (CF does wear-levelling by itself, but you don't want to write too many timet so the card) i was wondering by what a factor the journaling of ext3 increases the write accesses to the CompactFlash compared to ext2. Thanks a lot already for your help! Sincerely Chris Braun

Problems with Win32 syslinux
Hi folks, I'm having problems now with the Win32 syslinux in the 2.0.6 release when using it on various CompactFlash drives. These drives end up going into a Geode-based PC board with a built in CF slot. Now, before I run SYSLINUX.EXE on them, they are 32MB with a Toshiba part number showing up when the PC boots. They show up on as the Secondary Master. After I run SYSLINUX.EXE, they stay

syslinux on Windows to USB compactflash disk
Hi folks, I'm trying to make a CompactFlash bootable with SYSLINUX. The hard part is that I'm trying to run SYSLINUX on Windows 2000 and am attempting to write to the compactflash that's plugged in via a USB reader/writer. Its not working -- Windows complains about the 16-bit subsystem wanting direct access to the drive. So then is the problem SYSLINUX fighting with Windows or

OT: hardware question
Hi, folks, I'm installing a RAID controller card for a large external RAID box in a Dell server. I've got two riser slots available. Here's the question: the controller card has some large chips on one side, and if I put it in riser 1, those chips face downwards in the box, blocking ease of cooling, while if I put it in riser 2, the chips will face up... but be right over a large

CF boot stops after version and date output
SYSLINUX 2.10 2004-06-18 That is all I get when I boot my system off a CompactFlash card in an IDE adapter, no matter how long I wait. What debugging steps are recommended? I'm willing to get down and dirty with assembler, and I'd appreciate suggestions of what to suspect and where to start. Details: This is a Crucial 128MB CompactFlash card in a non-hot-swap CF-IDE adapter which

TDM400p susceptible to EMI?
I have a TDM400p with 3 fxs and 1 fxo daughter cards. It's in a mini-itx case with a 'right-angle' PCI riser card so the TDM400p is 'sandwiched' between the Atom D525 CPU and the 2.5" hard drive. I'm getting a bunch of clicks and pops on all ports. Has anybody had a similar experience? Did you find a solution? -- Thanks in advance,

OT: Need some riser card advice...
Fellow server-builders out there, this is for you. :) I was trying to build a cheap JBOD type storage solution running CentOS. Ended up snagging a Supermicro SC826TQ-R800LPB 2U case (12 drives slots) and a Supermicro X7DBE-O motherboard. Unfortunately, without thinking I snagged a 3ware 9650SE-12ML SATA RAID card which is a full height card and thus does not fit in my case. I have a few

Minimal Asterisk Web Interface?
I'm looking for a web GUI to Asterisk that I can run on some small embedded hardware. I've used FreePBX in the past but the overhead is not to my liking and it is entirely too complicated. I do not wish to change my entire OS just for the GUI either (aka AstLinux). Is there anything out there? I'd like to have only a small set of features, primarily the configuration of extensions,

A400P + Intel D201GLY2(A) motherboard?
Hello I'd like to build myself an Asterisk server for SOHO use. Intel's D201GLY2 motherboard (http://tinyurl.com/ddarzp) looks like a very good deal, but I'm concerned about two things: 1. Will an A400P (from OpenVox, but supposed to be Digium-compatible http://tinyurl.com/ck6nfu) fit with a PCI riser, or will the CPU heatsink/fan be in the way? I downloaded the PDF from
