New eudora problem - "mswmsg" not supported
I just upgraded from v0.9.9 to v0.9.32 (on Ubuntu 6.06) and Eudora Pro v4.2 stopped working. It no longer opens a mailbox when the icon is clicked. The log shows "fixme:rpc:alloc_serverprotoseq protseq "mswmsg" not supported" each time I click to open a mailbox. This was working on v0.9.9 so I am looking for ideas as to how to work around this problem. There is a bug

OT: Please comment on Dvorak's troll
http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1759,1812887,00.asp Specifically, his assertion that ISP's would sniff traffic and block, say, the SIP port. You could play wack-a-mole with port numbers, no? Also a community based, Freenet style of encryption implementation for "free" VoIP traffic would address this issue. I raise this to the list because I'm sure there's a grain of

Crash when embedding R X11 windows
Dear R developers, I've been experimenting with embedding R X11 windows into another application using KDE's QXEmbed on linux. Attempting to do so will crash R (with R 2.4.0, trunk, and I know the bug has been around in prior versions). I used to think this was related to bug #848, but I'm not sure, if / how the solution suggested there still applies to current versions of R.

problem with some fonts in native windows app.
Hi all, I'm trying to run a native windows app with wine 0.9.33 (in ubuntu edgy) but I some of the fonts in the app's window are not correct. Text phrases are represented as a set of overlaped characters in a single position, or it seems to me like that (another aproximation is that the phrases are represented like a Japanesse Kanji character). The extrange thing is that other text in

[OS X] How to link kernel32.lib.so with OS X XCode project?
Hi Please tell me how can I use parts of WINE / WineLib (mainly Kernel32 library implementation) in Mac OS XCode projects? I tried to link kernel32.lib.so with a test application, which used one of the Kernel32 functions - GetCurrentDirectoryA(), but got a linker error, which was not able to resolve this function :? The most puzzling thing is that if I run otool on Kernel32.lib.so, it says the

tinc 1.1pre17 not working on Windows XP due to KERNEL32.DLL (InitOnceExecuteOnce)
Good afternoon. I've tried making use of tinc inside of a Windows XP box, mostly to test whether it is at all possible to use a JScript/VBScript file (Windows Scripting Host). However, upon executing tinc.exe (this also happens with tincd.exe), an error pops up, telling about a method that is not available in KERNEL32.DLL. Apparently, this method, InitOnceExecuteOnce, is only available from

Dear list, With the new R 3.2.0 on the aforementioned platform, I get the following pop-up error when I enter "?update.packages" using R64: "The procedure entry point IdnToAscii could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll" That is, my command never gets executed. This does NOT happen with R32. I previously noticed this error starting with R 3.0.0 with the
